The moment you walk into this spot on Ulica Antuna Kazali – which, by the way, is this quiet residential street that most tourists never find – you realize someone actually put thought into making this feel like a home, not just another cookie-cutter Airbnb.
The Lapad peninsula location is clutch, and I mean that. You’re maybe a 15-minute walk from Lapad Bay’s pebble beaches (way less crowded than the old town chaos), but here’s the thing most people don’t realize – you’re also perfectly positioned to catch the local bus lines that’ll get you anywhere in Dubrovnik without dealing with the nightmare parking situation downtown. The penthouse itself has these massive windows that frame the Adriatic in a way that makes your morning coffee feel like a small ceremony. I actually found myself waking up earlier just to sit there before the day got busy. The modern fixtures don’t feel cold or sterile either – there’s this warmth to the space that comes from someone who clearly knows the difference between contemporary and comfortable.
What really sold me on this place, though, was the neighborhood vibe. You’ll hear Croatian families going about their evening routines, maybe some kids playing in the courtyard below, and honestly? That’s the authentic Dubrovnik experience right there. Not the marble-polished tourist bubble, but actual life happening around you. The apartment itself is impeccably maintained – I’m talking about details like proper water pressure (you’d be surprised how rare this is), a kitchen that’s actually equipped for cooking real meals, and air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing. Plus, and this matters if you’re visiting in summer, the penthouse positioning means you get cross-breezes that keep things naturally cool during those sticky July afternoons. I did notice the stairs might be a bit much if you’re hauling heavy luggage, but honestly, that’s a small price to pay for the privacy and views you get up there. The whole experience just feels more… intentional, I guess? Like you’re staying somewhere that someone genuinely cares about, not just another property in someone’s portfolio.

Very good La struttura è comoda, pulita, ben tenuta. Ottima posizione, parcheggio sotto l'alloggio, indispensabile....
What could be improved: Abbiamo avuto dei problemi con le formiche, e lo staff non è stato troppo presente. Abbiamo risolto con un insetticida che era in casa. Un secchio per i rifiuti pulito male... Ma insomma solo questo.
Udany pobyt Apartament przestronny, dobrze wyposażony, czysty, dwie sypialnie, na 4 osobową rodzinę wystarczający, łazienka i ubikacja osobno, kuchnia z całym wyposażeniem, balkon.
Do morza około 500 metrów, do starego miasta ok. 4 km, piechotą 50 minut, daleko. Kursuje autobus za 2,5 euro za osobę. Uber 10 euro. Jest miejsce parkingowe pod domem, nie korzystaliśmy.
What could be improved: Jedynie do czego można się przyczepić to teren dookoła domu, mógłby być bardziej zadbany.

A spacious apartment in a great location close to anything you might need and wonderful host team, totally recommend for My friends and I were really happy that we found Karlo’s Modern Penthouse Loft and decided to stay in Lapad and not closer to Old Town. Lapad is such a great area with a beautiful marine and a sunset beach one can walk to in 10 minutes. There is everything needed around: a big supermarket 10 minutes away, a DM, a smaller supermarket just around the corner. You will be comfortable here with a car or going by bus (stop is few minutes walk away) or taxi.
The apartment is really spacious and has everything you might need during your vacation. We were especially grateful for a washing machine, it was helpful to wash beach towels and some clothes, there is a drying board that you can place on a balcony and it will be dry in less than an hour.
There are two bedrooms and one toilet and one shower room. Beds were really comfortable. Kitchen has all you might need to not only make breakfast but cook whatever you want.
Last but probably one of the most important to mention is the kindness and willingness to help whenever needed of the host team, I rarely met such wonderful people as in Croatia! Many thanks for making our stay so exceptional, we already want to come back to this beautiful country and super nice and friendly people 🙂
What could be improved: There is nothing major that we would say we didn’t like, maybe one more shower would be good if you stay as a group of adults but we didn’t have trouble sharing one. Boiler for the hot water was not enough for 4 people but it was so hot during July so we actually didn’t mind a colder shower.
One advice for light sleepers: take earplugs with you as there is a church nearby that you might hear from early on even with closed windows, especially on Sunday. I had my earplug and sleeping mask and it was not disturbing me at all!

What could be improved: Internet connection was extremely slow (around 5Mbit/s in the morning and 1 Mbit/s at night). The wifi router relies on mobile network, there's no fixed line.
A Wonderful Stay at Karlo's Modern Penthouse Loft! My stay at Karlo's Modern Penthouse Loft was absolutely fantastic! Despite our flight delays, the warm and welcoming reception we received upon arriving at 2AM was truly heartwarming. The host's tips and recommendations about the nearby beaches and shops were incredibly helpful and made our stay even more enjoyable.
On our last day in Dubrovnik, we had a late-night flight at 10 PM. The host demonstrated exceptional kindness by extending our check-out time until 2 PM, allowing us to make the most of our final day without worrying about our luggage. They went above and beyond to arrange luggage storage for us, which made a huge difference and allowed us to fully enjoy our last moments in this beautiful city.
The apartment itself was impeccable. It was spotlessly clean, and the well-equipped kitchen was a real delight. The presence of two balconies facing different directions provided us with stunning views, and the efficient air conditioning kept us comfortable throughout our stay.
I can't say enough good things about this place and the thoughtful host. Karlo's Modern Penthouse Loft made our trip to Dubrovnik unforgettable, and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting the city. Thank you for the amazing experience! We look forward to returning in the future.
Great accommodation ideal for a longer stay Staying in this apartment was great! The apartment looked cozy, has a beautiful view and is complemented by nice decorations and scented candles (the owner's wife has taste 🙂). The facilities exceeded our expectations. You definitely don't need to take any unnecessary things with you. I don't know what all is standard equipment and what may have been left over from the previous tenants, I'm listing what was waiting for us: there are a lot of utensils in the kitchen (three pans, different sizes of pots, baking trays, lots of sharp knives, wooden spoons, a grater, a colander, a scraper , a large number of plates, mugs, glasses ... simply everything that a normal household contains), in the kitchen you will also find trash bags, baking paper, aluminum foil, food foil, detergent, washing powder for the dishwasher, tea towel, rags and sponges for washing and cleaning products. There are also basic foods such as salt, various spices, oil, coffee... The bathroom is also well equipped - soaps, hand and body creams, creams with SPF protection suitable for children, feminine hygiene products (tampons, pads), plasters , cotton buds and pads, washing powder and fabric softener, plenty of towels. The bedrooms have large wardrobes, an ironing board and an iron. The accommodation has its own covered parking lot, which we greatly appreciated - parking is a big problem in Dubrovnik. Turtles live in the garden (we saw two), which parents with children will definitely appreciate - our 2-year-old daughter learned another new word 😃. Thank you for a nice vacation
