L & L Old Town Apartments

Look, I've stayed in a lot of places in Dubrovnik over the years, and L & L Old Town Apartments on Lucarica street is honestly one of those finds that makes you feel like you've cracked some kind of code.

Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Dubrovnik over the years, and L & L Old Town Apartments on Lucarica street is honestly one of those finds that makes you feel like you’ve cracked some kind of code. You know how most accommodations in the Old Town are either crazy expensive hotels or sketchy apartments that look nothing like their photos? Well, this place actually delivers on what it promises – and I mean that in the best possible way.

The thing about Lucarica 8 is that it’s tucked just far enough from the main Stradun thoroughfare that you’re not dealing with the constant parade of cruise ship tourists, but you’re still literally a two-minute walk from everything that matters. I’m talking about being able to grab morning coffee at that little place near the Rector’s Palace (you know, the one locals actually go to) and still hear the city walls calling your name without having to navigate through crowds of people stopping every five feet for selfies. The apartments themselves – well, they’ve got that perfect balance of old-world charm and modern functionality that’s surprisingly hard to find here. The stone walls are the real deal, thick enough that you won’t hear your neighbors, and the air conditioning actually works properly, which honestly is half the battle during those sweltering July afternoons.

What really sets this place apart though is the attention to detail that you don’t usually get with apartment rentals. The owners clearly know what travelers need because there’s proper blackout curtains (essential when those church bells start at dawn), a kitchen that’s actually equipped for cooking real meals, and – this might sound small but trust me – decent water pressure in the shower. I’ve been in too many Old Town places where the shower feels like a gentle mist, so this matters. The Wi-Fi is solid throughout, which is crucial if you’re trying to work remotely or just want to video call home without frustration. Plus, they’ve somehow managed to keep the original character of these centuries-old buildings while making everything feel fresh and clean. You’ll find yourself running your hands along those ancient stone walls and actually feeling connected to the history of the place, not just trapped in some poorly converted medieval dungeon. The 9.2 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s that rare combination of location, comfort, and value that keeps people coming back. Sure, parking is still a nightmare like everywhere else in the Old Town, but they’ll give you the real scoop on where to leave your car without getting a ticket, and honestly, once you’re settled in, you won’t want to drive anywhere anyway.

We had a wonderful stay in this apartment! It was spotlessly clean, very comfortable, and perfectly located right in the heart of Dubrovnik, just a short walk from all the main sights and restaurants. A real gem for exploring the city on foot. Many thanks to the host for her warm welcome and attention. We highly recommend this place!

I had an amazing stay! The location was perfect, and the apartment exceeded our expectations. It had everything we needed and was even more comfortable than it looked in the pictures. The decoration was charming, and the host was incredibly helpful—showing us places to visit and recommending great restaurants.

What could be improved: The checkout experience was a bit disappointing. Checkout was at 10 AM, and just three minutes after, someone knocked on our door asking us to leave. The same thing happened to the guests in the apartment next to us. I believe there should be a bit more flexibility with the checkout time.

Great central location to stay, not a lot of stairs to navigate, just one flight. Air conditioning was perfect for the hot summer days! Room was exactly as pictured. We got a few tips from the hosts for restaurants and places to go. It’s above a restaurant but was pretty quiet!

What could be improved: We had a hard time finding where to go as the entrance is down the same lane as a restaurant. There was a bit of noise coming from the level above us, sounded like a kid running back and forth pretty much any time we were back at the apartment during the day. It didn’t bother us at all since we were out exploring all day and no noise from above at night, but might not be good for people that will spend more time in the apartment during the day.

It’s centrally located not too many steps to get to it very close to main street
I did not use the kitchen however it’s well stocked with a lot of useful utensils and there is a nice touch of elegance to bathroom and kitchen accessories

Walk in thru Marko polo restaurant and food is right ahead to property

Host is quite nice , when I came in she helped me with a EU to US plug explained the map and recommended places to eat. She also offered to post a small pocket book I forgot (very kind of her)

Close to both Ploce and Pier Gates

What could be improved: I suggest carrying your own soap to this property if you are used to high quality bath soaps.
If you forget they have alternatives which are regular line soaps nothing special.
