You know what struck me first about Lili Mar? The fact that you actually get private parking in Dubrovnik – I mean, anyone who’s tried to navigate those narrow streets with a rental car knows this is basically gold. The apartment sits on Ulica od Gale, which honestly sounds more intimidating than it is. It’s this quiet residential street that’s close enough to everything but far enough from the tourist chaos that you can actually sleep at night.

The space itself is surprisingly generous for what you’d expect in the old town area. Two proper bedrooms, not those cramped hotel rooms where you’re bumping into your travel partner every five minutes. The layout actually makes sense – you can spread out, make some coffee in the morning without waking everyone up, and there’s enough counter space to deal with all the olive oil and wine you’ll inevitably buy at the local markets. The kitchen’s properly equipped too, which matters if you’re staying more than a couple nights and want to try cooking with some of that incredible Croatian produce. The owner clearly put thought into the details – good water pressure in the shower (trust me, this isn’t a given everywhere in Dubrovnik), decent Wi-Fi, and windows that actually keep the sound down when the neighborhood comes alive in the evenings.

What really sets this place apart is how it feels like you’re living in the city rather than just passing through. You’re close enough to Stradun that you can walk to dinner without breaking a sweat, but you’re in this little pocket where you’ll see the same faces at the corner bakery each morning. The location means you can duck back to the apartment when the midday sun gets brutal – and in summer, it definitely gets brutal. I loved being able to grab groceries at the small market nearby and actually having space to store everything properly. The 9.8 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here; it’s one of those places where everything just works the way it should, without any of those little annoyances that can derail a vacation. Plus, having that parking spot means you can actually explore some of the coastal towns south of Dubrovnik without the stress of figuring out where to leave your car when you get back.

    Everything about the apartment was perfect! We just wish we could have stayed longer. Tje apartment is super clean, well decorated and well equipped. There's also a cute garden and an outdoor area where we enjoyed our daily breakfast. One of the nicest apartments that I have ever stayed at.

    What could be improved: There was no shampoo, but it's most likely that the host forgot about it since they thought of everything else in detail.

    Marija was extremely helpful. She kept us well informed. The apartment is beautiful, well presented and safe. Nice little touches such at the biscuits and wine. Rooms are clean and modern. It is ideally located, a bus ride or 20-30 minute walk into the old town. 20 minute walk to Gruz Port.

    Modern decor and good standard of fixtures and fittings. Very good AC which was very welcome. Close to bakeries and groceries as well as straightforward to walk to the old town.

    The property was in the perfect location, only a 15 minute walk to the nearest beach and a short 5 minute taxi to the old town. The apartment was very clean and modern. Rooms were big and air conditioned. The property is perfect for a group or family. Great kitchen facilities. Had everything we needed for the week which was great. The garden at the back was great too!
