First Impressions
Walking up to LOCUS Dubrovnik on Dropčeva ulica, you immediately get that “wow, I’m really here” feeling. This four-star boutique hotel sits right in the heart of Old Town Dubrovnik, and I mean literally — you’re surrounded by those famous limestone walls and centuries-old architecture. The entrance is understated but elegant, which honestly feels perfect for this UNESCO World Heritage setting. You know what struck me most? How seamlessly it blends into the historic streetscape while still feeling distinctly modern inside.
Location Magic
The location is absolutely unbeatable — I can’t stress this enough. You’re maybe a two-minute walk from Stradun, the main pedestrian street, but tucked away enough that you escape the heaviest tourist crowds. From your room, depending on which one you get, you might catch glimpses of the Adriatic or those iconic terracotta rooftops. What I loved most was stepping out in the early morning when the marble streets are still quiet, grabbing coffee, and having the Old Town almost to yourself before the day-trippers arrive from the cruise ships.
The Rooms
The accommodations here really surprised me — they’ve managed to create something that feels both contemporary and respectful of the building’s history. My room had these beautiful stone details that reminded you exactly where you were, but the amenities and comfort level were thoroughly modern. The beds are seriously comfortable (important after all that walking on marble streets), and the bathrooms are sleek without being sterile. Air conditioning works perfectly, which you’ll definitely appreciate during those hot Adriatic summers.
Dining and Atmosphere
While LOCUS doesn’t have its own full restaurant, the breakfast setup is quite good — fresh local ingredients, great coffee, and they actually know how to make eggs properly. But honestly, being in Old Town Dubrovnik, you’re spoiled for choice when it comes to dining. I found myself grabbing quick bites at nearby konobas or splurging at some of the more upscale spots just steps away. The hotel staff gave excellent recommendations too, steering me toward places locals actually eat rather than just tourist traps.
Why Guests Love It
This place consistently gets rave reviews, and after staying here, I totally understand why. It’s that sweet spot where you get boutique hotel service and style without paying five-star prices. The staff genuinely seems to care about your experience — they’re not just going through the motions. Couples especially seem drawn to LOCUS, and I can see why. There’s something romantic about falling asleep to the sound of footsteps echoing off ancient stones, then waking up in the middle of one of Europe’s most beautiful cities. The 9.3 rating speaks for itself, but what really sells it is how guests keep coming back. It’s the kind of place that makes Dubrovnik feel less like a tourist destination and more like somewhere you could actually imagine living.

What Our Guests Say
Excellent location right in the heart of the old city. Good communication with the manager who met us to check in. Very quiet, comfortable room.
What could be improved: It was an old building so obviously there were lots of steep steps within the property to get to our room, but the manager helped us with our cases, which was lovely. Everything else was perfect.
The host was really friendly, easy to communicate with and very helpful! Accommodation is in a fantastic location and the little extras the host provided were fabulous!
What could be improved: N/A
The location in the old town was perfect and our host warmly welcoming, pleasant, helpful and great communicator. Thank you.
What could be improved: Ability to make a fresh coffee so as not to have to dress and climb 4 flights of steep spiral stairs to go out for coffee early in the morning.
Great location!
What could be improved: Nothing
Location
What could be improved: Tricky spiral steps to climb up to room w heavy luggage
The host was friendly and generous. The location was ideal.
What could be improved: The means of communication through booking.com messages was often unsuccessful. It appeared the host and myself sometimes ignored each other. I did often not receive notification of 'undelivered' message for a day or two.
The view is spectacular and the room is spacious and stunning
What could be improved: The amount of stairs leading to the room is a little ridiculous when traveling with large suitcases.
- the rooftop is incredible, very very large and overlooking the main street of old Dubrovnik
- the location of the flat is perfect, with everything less than 5 minutes' walk away
- even though it's a rental, it feels like a hotel (slippers, bathrobe, lots of beauty products)
- it was very easy to get to the apartment: a few days before you arrive, you receive a message from the host to arrange a meeting time.
- plenty of products offered in the flat (cold drinks such as cola, beer and water as well as a bottle of wine)
In short, thank you again, it was an incredible stay, we didn't want to go back.
What could be improved: The check out is a bit too early (10am)
Location , clean
What could be improved: Stairs and the bed not long enough for tall people
