Luxury Two Bedroom Amari Apartment, Dubrovnik

Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Dubrovnik over the years, and this Amari apartment on Ulica od Montovjerne honestly surprised me. I mean, Lapad isn’t where most tourists end up – it’s actually where locals hang out, which is exactly why I loved it. The building itself is tucked into this quiet residential street, maybe a 15-minute walk from the main Lapad beach promenade, but you know what? That distance is perfect because you get all the benefits without the constant buzz of people dragging suitcases over cobblestones at 6 AM.

The apartment itself feels like someone actually lives there, not like those sterile hotel rooms where everything’s bolted down. Two proper bedrooms with decent closet space (and I mean proper closets, not those tiny European wardrobes that fit maybe three shirts), a kitchen that’s actually equipped for cooking if you want to hit the morning market in Gruž – which, by the way, is only about 10 minutes away by bus. The living area has these big windows that let in ridiculous amounts of light, and honestly, the whole place just feels… comfortable. Like you can spread out your stuff without feeling like you’re imposing. The Wi-Fi actually works throughout the apartment, which sounds basic but trust me, it’s not always a given in Croatian rentals.

What really sold me on this place was the neighborhood vibe. There’s this little bakery called Dubrovnik around the corner – not touristy at all, just locals grabbing their morning burek and coffee. The beach at Lapad is maybe a 20-minute stroll through some pretty residential streets, and it’s the kind of beach where Croatian families actually go, not just cruise ship passengers. Plus, you’re close enough to catch the bus into Old Town (the number 6 runs pretty regularly), but far enough away that you’re not dealing with that summer madness every single day. Parking can be a bit of a hunt during peak season – well, it’s Croatia, so that’s kind of expected – but the hosts were pretty helpful with suggestions about where to leave the car. The whole check-in process was smooth, none of that “meet me at some random café with a red umbrella” nonsense. Just straightforward and professional, which I appreciated after a long travel day. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was planning to explore more of the Dubrovnik area beyond just the old city walls.
