BRILLIANT place to stay - ideal location, fabulous hosts, clean and well-equipped apartment. Apartment brilliant - great location - easy for the bus into town and all the beaches. Right by the marina - so lovely restaurants too. (We really recommend the veggie restaurant on the Port Gruz side - delightful garden and FAB food) The host was amazing. They not only met us on arrival and carried our bags up the 5 flights of stairs - they also helped us and carried them down afterwards. They organised a taxi for us, and the taxi driver knew the host well - and knew exactly where to take us. Thoughtful touches like providing bread and milk and fruit, plus a few extra treats - fab! Shop nearby to get anything you need. The communication with the hosts was great too - easy to get in touch. We'll be back!!!!
What could be improved: The two smaller beds were a little squeaky when you turn over. Everything else was brilliant. Apartment had all that anyone could want.

You know what?
You know what? I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Dubrovnik, but Marina Lapad honestly surprised me in the best way. When I first walked into this 2-bedroom apartment on Ulica od Svetog Mihajla, I actually stopped in my tracks – the sea view through those windows is just ridiculous. And I mean that in a good way. You’re literally steps from the water, close enough that you can hear the gentle lapping against the rocks below, but far enough up that you don’t get the tourist crowds wandering past your terrace.
The Lapad peninsula is where locals actually hang out, which most visitors don’t realize. While everyone’s fighting for space in the Old Town, you’re in this residential area where Croatian families come to swim and where the morning coffee culture is real – there’s this little café around the corner that serves proper espresso, not the watered-down stuff they serve near Pile Gate. The apartment itself feels like someone’s well-loved home rather than a sterile rental. The kitchen’s actually equipped for cooking (I made pasta one night with ingredients from the market), and honestly, after a long day of wandering Dubrovnik’s stone streets, having two proper bedrooms meant my travel companion and I could spread out without stepping on each other’s suitcases.
What really sold me was the evening routine I fell into – I’d grab a bottle of Dingač from the local shop, sit on that terrace, and watch the sunset paint the Adriatic this incredible shade of gold. The 9.8 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there; it’s those little touches that matter. The Wi-Fi actually works well (crucial when you’re trying to upload photos), the shower pressure is solid, and parking – which is a nightmare in most of Dubrovnik – is sorted. I mean, you’re about a 15-minute bus ride from the Old Town, but that’s actually perfect because you get to experience both worlds: the historic madness during the day and this peaceful, almost village-like atmosphere at night. The bus stop is maybe a three-minute walk, and the 6 line runs regularly enough that you’re never stuck. Plus, walking back from Pile Gate along the coastal path takes about 45 minutes if you’re feeling energetic – it’s gorgeous and you’ll work off all that gelato. Trust me, for the price point and the authentic Dubrovnik experience away from the cruise ship crowds, this place gets it right.

Right next to the apartment there is a supermarket and a bus stop that will take you to the old town in 8 minutes. The bus comes every 10 minutes. The equipment of the apartment is excellent, clean and cozy. Fully equipped kitchen and clean, spacious bathroom even with a washing machine.
Marija was a very good host and as a surprise we had small snacks, drinks and fruit prepared in the apartment. This is very useful when you don't have time or the opportunity to go to the supermarket after your arrival.
I highly recommend this apartment to everyone who wants to visit Dubrovnik
