That might sound like a hike, but trust me, you’ll appreciate being away from the cruise ship crowds that flood Stradun every morning. Plus, there’s this little bakery on the way – I think it’s on Frana Supila – where you can grab proper Croatian pastries that aren’t tourist-priced. The apartment itself feels more spacious than most hotel rooms you’d get for the price, and having two bedrooms means you can actually spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. The kitchen’s well-equipped too, which matters because eating out every meal in Dubrovnik will absolutely destroy your budget.

What I really loved was how quiet it gets in the evenings – you’re close enough to hear the subtle sounds of the harbor, but far enough from the nightlife chaos that you can actually sleep. The terrace becomes this perfect spot for morning coffee or evening wine (there’s a Konzum nearby for supplies), and honestly, watching the sunset paint those medieval walls golden while you’re just chilling in your apartment clothes… well, it beats fighting for space at the city walls with everyone else’s cameras. The 4-star rating feels about right – it’s not luxury, but everything works properly and the place feels clean and well-maintained. I’d say the 8/10 rating is fair too, maybe even a bit conservative. The only minor thing is that parking can be tricky in the area, so if you’re renting a car, factor in some extra time to find a spot. But if you’re using buses or taxis, you’re perfectly positioned. The whole Ploce area has this residential feel that makes you feel less like a tourist and more like you’re just temporarily living in Dubrovnik – which, after dealing with the crowds in Old Town, becomes pretty appealing by day three of your trip.
