The rooms are comfortable enough, though don’t expect luxury linens or anything. What you get instead is character, like those thick stone walls that keep things cool even when Dubrovnik gets sweltering in summer. The 8.6 rating makes total sense because while it’s not perfect (the WiFi can be spotty, and honestly, good luck finding street parking nearby), it delivers exactly what it promises. The staff actually seems to know the neighborhood – they pointed me toward this tiny bakery on Prijeko that I never would’ve found otherwise.

Here’s the thing about staying right in Old Town though – you’re going to hear some street noise, especially during peak season when the cruise ships dump everyone out for the day. But honestly? By 8 PM when the day-trippers clear out, it gets surprisingly peaceful. You can walk to Rector’s Palace in about three minutes, hit up the city walls entrance in five, and there’s this little convenience store tucked away on a side street that saves you from those tourist-trap prices near the main drag. I actually ended up extending my stay because there’s something addictive about being able to duck home for a quick break between exploring, then head back out for dinner without any planning. It’s not the fanciest place you’ll ever stay, but if you want to feel like you’re actually experiencing Dubrovnik rather than just checking it off a list, Nikili gets it right.
