Hotel Description
You know what? I was honestly skeptical when I first walked up to Old Town Port Apartments on Ribarnica Street – I mean, finding a decent place right in Dubrovnik’s Old Town that doesn’t cost your firstborn is pretty tough. But this little spot actually surprised me in the best way possible.
The thing about staying on Ribarnica is that you’re literally steps from the old port, which sounds touristy but is actually where locals still hang out in the evenings. I’d wake up to the sound of fishing boats heading out (around 5 AM if you’re a light sleeper, but honestly it’s kind of charming), and by the time I had my coffee, the stone streets were already warming up with that Mediterranean morning light. The apartments themselves are nothing fancy – we’re talking 3-star comfort here – but they’re clean, the AC works (crucial in July), and whoever designed them actually thought about storage space, which is rare in these old buildings. My bathroom was small but had decent water pressure, and I could hear my neighbors occasionally, but that’s just life in a centuries-old neighborhood where the walls are thick stone but the floors… well, they creak.
What really sold me on this place was the location knowledge you get just by being there. The apartment manager – lovely woman who speaks perfect English – told me which bakery opens earliest (6:30 AM, two streets over toward Placa), where to buy groceries without tourist markup (there’s a small market past the cathedral that locals use), and honestly, which restaurants to avoid on my street because they’re tourist traps. You’re a three-minute walk from the main drag, but far enough down this quieter stretch that you don’t get the cruise ship crowds marching past your window. I could pop out for dinner reservations, grab morning pastries, or just sit on the small balcony with wine and watch people navigate the marble streets below. The WiFi was solid – I had video calls with no issues – and they’d arranged parking for me about ten minutes away, which in Old Town is basically a miracle. Sure, you’ll pay extra for the parking, but honestly, driving in Dubrovnik is a nightmare anyway, so I just walked everywhere. By day three, I felt like I actually lived there instead of just visiting, and when you’re paying those Dubrovnik prices, that feeling is worth everything.

The location was excellent as it was literally on the dock of the old port itself. It meant everything in the Old Town was in easy walking distance.
Two bedrooms with comfy beds and the apartment was well resourced with everything you need. Air conditioning was very welcome as we had a surprising heatwave at the end of October.
Darko was very responsive to texts and easy to deal with.
I would recommend this apartment to anyone.
What could be improved: As the apartment is in the attic, it had tiny windows so there was no view at all but we spent very little time in the apartment during the day so it was not a problem.
The stairs leading up to the apartment were steep so that could be a problem for some people.
There was an issue with hot water but I’m sure it will be fixed for the next guests.Maureen from United Kingdom – 27 October 2024 (9/10)

No breakfast with this stay. The location is fantastic. Right on the old port, steps to the wall into old town.
The area is busy, but not noisy.
What could be improved: For those with bad knees there are a lot of steps up to the apartment (on 3rd floor).
There is a shallow (2 inch) wooden beam you have to step over to get in our out of the bedrooms that you can stub your toes on if not careful.Felipe from United States – 20 November 2022 (9/10)
It's the perfect location, and a very comfortable apartment and very helpful hosts!
What could be improved: The showers boxes were a bit small and hard to use. Also, even though it's understandable, the floor creaks a lot when walking around the apartment.Jenny from Australia – 9 November 2022 (9/10)
great location & very comfortable apartment
V from Turkey – 20 August 2022 (9/10)
Excellent location, clean and practical
What could be improved: Beds could have been more comfy.
Also, not related to the property but parking fees are outrageous in Dubrovnik. Don't even think about bringing your car to the city.Iok from Macao – 16 February 2024 (9/10)
Location, apartment stay inside the old city, and do not need to take long stairs to arrive
What could be improved: Head room a little bit to low
