Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of places in Dubrovnik, and honestly? RAGUSA VIEWPOINT is one of those finds that makes you want to keep quiet about it so it doesn’t get overrun. It’s tucked away on Ulica Ante Topića Mimare – you know, that street that winds up from the Ploče area where most tourists don’t venture unless they’re heading to the cable car. The location is actually genius because you’re close enough to walk to Old Town in maybe 10 minutes, but far enough away that you escape the cruise ship crowds and those street performers who play the same three songs all day long.

The moment you walk into this place, you get why it’s called “Viewpoint.” I mean, the vista from the first floor is absolutely stunning – you’re looking out over the terracotta rooftops of the old city with the Adriatic stretching endlessly beyond. What struck me most was how quiet it gets here in the evenings. You can actually hear the bells from the cathedral drift up the hill, and there’s something really magical about watching the sunset paint those ancient walls golden while sipping wine on what feels like your own private balcony. The owners clearly know what they’re doing – this isn’t some thrown-together Airbnb situation. Everything feels thoughtfully curated, from the local artwork on the walls to the way they’ve positioned the furniture to maximize those views. You’ll find little touches that show they understand travelers – good lighting for reading, proper hangers (not those annoying fixed ones), and honestly some of the most comfortable beds I’ve encountered in Croatia.

What really sets this place apart is the personal attention without being intrusive. The hosts seem to genuinely care about your experience – they’ll point you toward that little bakery on Svetog Dominika that opens at 6 AM for the best burek, or warn you which days the fish market gets crazy busy. Parking can be a bit of a dance in this neighborhood (welcome to Dubrovnik), but they’ll actually help you figure out the best spots and timing. I stayed here during shoulder season in October, and it was perfect – still warm enough to enjoy those views with morning coffee, but without the summer madness when the city feels like it’s bursting at the seams. The 9.9 rating isn’t just algorithm magic; it’s because places like this are rare. You get that boutique hotel experience with genuine local insight, spectacular views that don’t cost you a fortune, and the kind of peaceful atmosphere that makes you want to extend your stay by a few more days.

  The apartment has amazing facilities – steam room and jacuzzi (which we were every night of our stay). The living room was huge and comfortable and had a smart tv!
  
  What could be improved: Location of the apartment is not ideal – we had to uber to avoid climbing up the stairs. When we did use the stairs, we thought of it as our stairmaster exercise!

  This place was amazing and definitely worth the money! Apartment was very clean and modern with everything you could need. Location is little bit above the city center so there is lot of stairs , be ready for it ( but always is possible to take Uber or some other type of taxi).

  Fabulous facilities, for example including a sauna, outdoor spa, gym equipment, undercover alfresco, excellent laundry appliances, fully stocked kitchen appliances and utensils, large smart TV, etc. etc.
  Anela was extremely helpful and responsive to every request.
  
  What could be improved: The room safe did not work reliably, which caused some anxiety. However we understand it will be immediately replaced. The property is a fairly long way up a steep hill, but at least it gave us some great exercise! A very large new residence is nearing construction just below the property, and unfortunately has taken out about half of the view.

  Everything was wonderful, exceeding our expectations. Our check in and check out was smooth. Great choice.
  
  What could be improved: We were a little confused by the air conditioning system. Controls didn’t always seem to work as expected, but it is definitely capable. We would suggest getting pads for the dining chairs so that they are easier to move and don’t make a loud noise when you slide chairs in and out. Also suggest stocking some filters for the coffee maker. The bath towels did not seem to be as good of quality as the hot tub towels.

  We were travelling with an 11 month old and knew that we would be home early every night so decided to pay a little bit more to ensure that we had great facilities. The apartment didn’t disappoint in this respect we all felt very at home. The walk to the apartment from the old town is up a hill but we managed it every night with a pram, if you’re relatively fit you’ll have no problem! Also Dubrovnik is quite hilly so wherever you stay I expect you will need to deal with hills.
  
  What could be improved: Considering that the apartment is quite pricey your expectations are of course going to be high. Currently I would say that the apartment is missing a few very small touches that would make it 10/10. On arrival we were provided with a bottle of local wine which was lovely, however in other comparable properties we have been given a small hamper of local produce. A few basic cooking ingredients would have also been very useful (oil, salt & pepper) and some bottled water on arrival. Although the kitchen was well stocked with new equipment the one thing that I felt was missing was a toaster. If you’re staying for a few days I would suggest getting an Uber to Lidl (€7-€10 each way) to stock up there rather than using the closest supermarket.
  
  Overall we had a great stay and I would certainly recommend to others. With a couple of small additional touches guests experience could be made even better

  Die Sauna gefiel uns sehr. Es wahren auch die Fitnessgeräte in Ordnung. Die Betten waren gut. Der Parkplatz ist auch super gewesen weil, die Parkmöglichkeiten in Dubrovnik sind die reinste Katastrophe. Man zahlt fast überall wo man parken kann für 2 Stunden 13-15€. Küche ist auch sehr gut ausgestattet. Die Schlüsselübergabe hat gepasst die Empfangsdame Anela war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
  
  What could be improved: Was uns überhaupt nicht gefallen hat war die VIDEOÜBERWACHUNG am Whirlpool im Aussenbereich, also das geht überhaupt nicht wer möchte schon im Urlaub überwacht werden, also bitte wir sind doch nicht bei einer Reality-Show. Uns wurde von der Überwachung auch nichts mitgeteilt, bei der Schlüsselübergabe anfangs, wir sind eigentlich alleine drauf gekommen da über dem Whirlpool ein Schild hängt VIDEOÜBERWACHT. Daher hat uns ab diesem Zeitpunkt auch dieser Bereich nicht mehr interessiert, wir haben uns gar nicht mehr dort aufgehalten. Die Böden waren in dem Apartment komplett dreckig man kann gar nicht das Apartment ohne Schuhe nutzen weil die Füße innerhalb 5 min komplett dreckig sind da die Böden nie ich glaube richtig mal gereinigt/geschrubbt wurden nach Bauarbieten. Das Abwassersystem sprich Regenwasserableitsystem vom oberen Stock wird auch nicht richtig abgeleitet der ganze Schmutz ( Haare,Essensreste, Müll..) von der oberen Terrassen wird einfach auf die Ragusa Viewpoint Terrasse abgeleitet und es ist zu laut. Waschmaschine vorhanden, aber leider kein Wäscheständer. Es entsteht durch Stühlerücken lästiger Lärm.
  Die Entfernung zum Stadtzentrum und Strand übereinstimmt leider auch nicht mit der Beschreibung des Apartments es sind 400m angegeben, es sind locker 600-700m und der Weg verläuft auf unzähligen Treppen/Stiegen. Wir haben mal die ganzen Stufen gezählt es sind ungefähr 650 Stufen.
  Von der Nachbarwohnung ist leider auch der Lärmpägel sehr hoch weil die zwei Wohnungen leider nur durch eine Holzwand/Holztüre abgetrennt sind ersichtlich sogar beim Bild wo man die Küche sieht Links die Türe. Es war sogar mal zu hören wie die Nachbarn Geschlechtsverkehr hatten um die Mittagszeit also das war leider nicht so amüsant weil wir neben an mit den Kindern waren.
