Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Dubrovnik, and Rooms Kvestic is one of those finds that honestly surprised me. It’s tucked away on Petra Zoranica in Lapad – and I mean properly tucked away, not in that annoying way where you can’t find it, but in that good way where you’re away from the cruise ship crowds. The first thing that hit me walking up was how quiet it actually gets here in the evenings. You know that constant hum of tourists you get near the Old Town? None of that. Just the sound of locals heading home from work and maybe some kids playing in the small park nearby.

The rooms themselves are… well, they’re exactly what you’d want after spending the day wandering around those stone streets. Nothing fancy, but everything works properly – and I mean everything. The AC doesn’t sound like a dying helicopter, the shower has actual water pressure, and the beds are firm enough that you won’t wake up feeling like you’ve been sleeping on a marshmallow. What really got me was the attention to small details. Clean towels that actually smell fresh, not like they’ve been sitting in a laundry basket for days. The owner (I think his name was Marko?) was around during check-in and gave me this whole rundown of the neighborhood – where to get the best burek in the morning, which bus to take to avoid the tourist traps, that sort of thing. You can tell he actually cares about the place.

The location thing is interesting because it’s not where most people think they want to stay, but it’s exactly where you should want to stay. You’re about a 15-minute walk to Lapad Beach – the one with the actual sand, not the rocky bits everyone complains about. There’s a small grocery store literally two minutes away, and this little konoba down the street that does the best black risotto I’ve had outside of someone’s grandmother’s kitchen. The bus stop is right there when you need to head into the Old Town, but honestly, I found myself taking the coastal walk most mornings because it’s just nicer. Takes maybe 25 minutes if you don’t stop to take photos every ten seconds. The evening walk back is even better – you get these sunset views over the Adriatic that make all those Instagram shots look pretty average. For a 3-star place, it punches way above its weight. Sometimes you just want somewhere clean and comfortable where you can actually rest, you know? Not everyone needs a marble bathroom and a concierge who speaks five languages.

  The most friendly and helpful people we have met. Helped me out with a puncture on my Vespa by sorting out a local repair
  The room although basic had everything we needed, a great shower and comfy bed.
  Easy access to bus to Old Town and lots of restaurants etc within a quick stroll.

  It was very clean, easy to find by Uber, comfortable and close to a good supermarket and other shops for coffees or drinks. Only 3 minutes walk to a bus stop. Bus n6 can take you to the Old Town and 7 minutes walking to the nearest beach. The table and chairs outside was nice too.
  
  What could be improved: The acoustic insulation wasn’t good as we could listen people making noise in next room or someone playing ball in it. I think behind the closet the wall was very thin. Noise came through there.

  The host is nice, location is good near to the beach, there is bus going to the old town, take Uber to bus terminal around 6 Euro only。

  Room was comfortable and clean. Good location, close to lapad beach and a bus ride from old town. There was a washing machine and outdoor space to hang clothes. The outdoor table and chairs was wonderful in the spring weather. Niksa was very kind in helping us jump start our car when leaving as it had a flat battery.

  Everything excellent very clean and comfy. It is located in a different area however the beach is 5 min walking ( very nice beach) and if you take a bus number 6 or 4 you get the old town in less than 10 minutes .
