You know that feeling when you stumble onto a place that’s almost too good to be true? That’s exactly what happened when I found Stayeva 11 tucked away on this quiet little street in Dubrovnik’s Old Town. I mean, the address literally is the name – they’re at number 11 on Stajeva street, which honestly makes it super easy to remember when you’re wandering around those maze-like stone alleys after a few glasses of Croatian wine.
What really got me was how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between authentic Croatian character and modern comfort. The building itself has that gorgeous Dalmatian stone exterior that blends seamlessly with the medieval architecture around it, but step inside and you’re dealing with proper air conditioning, fast wifi, and bathrooms that actually have decent water pressure – trust me, that’s not always a given in these historic buildings. The rooms have this clean, minimalist vibe that lets the original architectural details shine through. There’s something really satisfying about staying somewhere that feels genuinely connected to the city’s history without having to sacrifice your creature comforts.
Location-wise, you’re basically in the heart of everything but on one of those side streets that the tour groups don’t really discover. Stradun (the main drag) is maybe a two-minute walk, but you won’t hear the crowds from your room. I actually loved stepping out in the morning and having the narrow street mostly to myself before the day-trippers arrived from the cruise ships. You’re close enough to Rector’s Palace and the Cathedral that you can pop back for a midday break without it being a whole production, and honestly, being able to duck back to your room when the summer heat gets intense is worth its weight in gold. The 9.8 rating makes total sense once you experience how thoughtfully everything’s been put together – it’s the kind of place where small details like quality linens and proper blackout curtains show that someone really cares about the guest experience. Plus, the staff actually knows the neighborhood and can point you toward that little bakery on Prijeko Street that opens at 6 AM, or tell you which konoba serves the best black risotto without the tourist markup.

Dubravka was one of the best hosts we ever had during our extensive travels. She walked us from the point of transfer drop off to the apartment which is right next to an entrance to the old city wall. She answered our questions very promptly and provided everything needed. The apartment is exceptionally well located, close to everything we wanted to see and also many nice restaurants. The unit had everything we needed and had better and more supplies than most hotel rooms. Not to mention food qualify breakfast included

We absolutely loved our stay in this charming apartment within the walls of Dubrovnik. It was the perfect location for exploring the city.
We really appreciated the host greeting us upon arrival and ensuring everything was just right for our visit. The apartment was impeccably clean and so comfortable. The thoughtful gesture of providing a bottle of prosecco for my birthday was such a lovely surprise! It truly made our arrival extra special.
We had a fantastic time in Dubrovnik and this apartment played a big part in that. We hope to return
What could be improved: This isn’t a criticism of this apartment but a message to anyone unfamiliar with the area. You cannot drive inside the walled portion of the city. You will need to carry your suitcases from one of the gates to the apartment. The closet gate is about 600 meters from the apartment. My wife and I had no problem doing this but I could see this being an issue for some families or older guests.

The whole stay was exceptional. The personal touches in the room, the breakfasts, communication and the room itself was second to none. The most unbelievable guest room in prime location with an enthusiastic communicative owner. Nothing was too much.

A beautiful apartment in very central location. The apartment was kitted out with state of the art facilities such as underfloor heating, organic bed linen and carefully selected mattresses and mattress toppers. The attention to detail was outstanding, but was only secondary to her high levels of penrsonal kindness and hospitality. I cannot recommend this highly enough.
