The kitchenette isn’t just for show; it’s got everything you’d actually use, which came in handy when I grabbed fresh produce from the morning market near Pile Gate. The bed was surprisingly comfortable too, and here’s something you don’t always think about – the blackout curtains actually work. Trust me, after walking Dubrovnik’s stone streets all day, you’ll appreciate waking up naturally instead of being jolted awake by that intense Croatian morning sun. The WiFi was solid throughout my stay, which matters if you’re trying to upload those Old Town shots to Instagram or need to catch up on work.

What really won me over though was the location – you’re close enough to the action but far enough to escape the cruise ship crowds that flood the historic center during peak hours. It’s about a 15-minute walk to Stradun (the main street), which sounds like a lot until you realize you’re avoiding the tourist markup on everything from coffee to groceries. The neighborhood feels genuinely local; I’d hear Croatian conversations drifting from balconies in the evening, and there’s a little bakery about three blocks down that locals actually frequent – you know, the kind of place where pointing at pastries works perfectly fine. Parking can be tricky around here (honestly, it’s tricky everywhere in Dubrovnik), but the host gave me clear instructions, and I managed just fine. The check-in was smooth too – none of that awkward waiting around wondering if you’re at the right building.

Here’s the thing about staying at Violeta 3: it feels like you’re living in Dubrovnik rather than just visiting it. You’ll walk the same route to the Old Town each day, maybe stopping for morning coffee at that little café on the corner, and by day three you’ll feel like you’ve got your own routine going. The apartment stays cool even during those sweltering July afternoons, and the shower pressure is actually decent – small victories that matter more than you’d think. Sure, it’s not fancy in that glossy hotel way, but it’s clean, comfortable, and has everything you need. Plus, with a 9-star rating, I’m clearly not the only one who thinks this place hits the sweet spot between location, comfort, and authentic Croatian living.

  L’établissement était très agréable, pour 5 jours c’est parfait. L’endroit était à proximité de supermarchés ainsi que des arrêts de bus.
  
  What could be improved: L’appartement se situe loin du centre-ville, il faut compter 45 minutes à pied pour être dans le centre. Sous la chaleur frappante c’est un peu long 🙁
