Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Dubrovnik, and honestly? Studio Apartments Sonatina surprised me. When I first walked up to Ivana Rabljanina 4, I was expecting another cramped tourist trap – I mean, anything in Old Town usually comes with a hefty price tag and tiny rooms. But this place actually gets it right.
The thing about staying right in the heart of Old Town is that you’re literally steps from everything that matters. I’m talking about rolling out of bed and being at Stradun in two minutes, not the “close to Old Town” nonsense where you’re huffing it uphill for twenty minutes with your luggage. The studio I stayed in had this wonderful old-world charm – thick stone walls that actually keep things cool during those brutal summer afternoons, and you know what? The air conditioning doesn’t sound like a dying helicopter, which is more than I can say for some four-star places I’ve been to. The kitchenette was surprisingly well-equipped too. I mean, I wasn’t expecting much, but I could actually make a proper breakfast instead of surviving on overpriced café food.
What really won me over was the quietness – and if you’ve ever tried to sleep in Old Town during peak season, you’ll appreciate this. Most places on the main drags have you listening to drunk tourists stumbling around until 3 AM, but Ivana Rabljanina is just tucked away enough that you get the peace without sacrificing the location. The staff (well, really just one guy who seems to run everything) was genuinely helpful with local recommendations. He told me about this tiny konoba down near Pile Gate that I never would have found otherwise – best peka I had in Croatia, honestly. The apartment itself has character without being stuffy about it. Sure, the bathroom’s a bit snug, but the shower pressure is decent and everything works. I stayed there in late September, which is honestly the perfect time – still warm enough for swimming but without the August crowds, and the morning light coming through those old windows was pretty spectacular. For a three-star spot with a 9 rating, it delivers exactly what it promises: a comfortable, authentic base in the most coveted location in Dubrovnik without the boutique hotel pretensions or prices.

Stayed for one night in Dubrovnik. My friend and I were so pleased with the location, surrounded by the beautiful buildi Prime location in the heart of Dubrovnik. Perfect for us to explore the old town and see the sights.

Great place to stay in Dubrovnik! Beautiful place to stay! Nice quiet part of Old Town while also amongst many facilities and restaurants. The room was very clean and very comfortable, providing everything you need for an enjoyable stay.
The communication from Julia was great, and Maria was extremely helpful, meeting us when we entered Old Town, guiding us to our room and going over the facilities. She also provided some great information about restaurants, shops and transport.
We highly recommend this place and would certainly stay again.

Great option for old town Dubrovnik handy location and very comfortable. Excellent location, quiet, clean and comfortable. Lovely staff.
What could be improved: Only has stairs maybe diificult if you have mobility issues otherwise a lovely place to stay.
Lovely - the host Julia was very helpful, along with Maria who was working with her. Made everything nice & easy It was easy to find, good central location, great host & staff.
Really nice and affordable place, great location in a quiet street but close to everything! The place was easy to find with instructions. Good aircon and a really cozy room! There’s no nightlife next to the property so it was calm to sleep.
What could be improved: We couldn’t find anything to do dishes with while our stay and the bins were quite small and not emptied during daily cleaning. We weren’t there that long so it was okay.
