You know what? I was actually skeptical when I first saw Sweet Dream 2 on Biokovska ulica – I mean, the name sounds almost too simple, right? But honestly, this place completely caught me off guard in the best way possible. The building itself sits on this quiet residential street that’s maybe a 12-minute walk from the Old Town walls, which is actually perfect because you get that authentic Dubrovnik neighborhood feel without the constant tourist crowds streaming past your window. The check-in was refreshingly smooth – none of that awkward waiting around in a cramped lobby situation you sometimes get with smaller hotels.

What really struck me about this place is how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between feeling boutique and actually being functional. The rooms have this clean, modern vibe without being sterile, and – here’s something I really appreciated – the air conditioning actually works properly, which you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case in Croatian hotels during summer. The beds are legitimately comfortable (I’m picky about this stuff), and there’s enough space to actually unpack without feeling like you’re living out of a suitcase. The bathrooms are well-designed too, with good water pressure and those little touches that show someone was thinking about the guest experience. I stayed there in late September when the crowds were thinning out, and the staff seemed genuinely relaxed and helpful – they gave me solid recommendations for dinner spots that weren’t the usual tourist traps.

Here’s the thing about the location that really matters: Biokovska ulica is one of those streets where you’ll see locals going about their daily business, kids playing, that sort of authentic slice of life you miss when you’re staying right in the thick of the tourist zone. But you’re still close enough that you can easily walk down to Stradun or catch the city bus if you’re feeling lazy. The neighborhood has a couple of small cafes and a grocery store nearby, which comes in handy if you want to grab breakfast pastries or just need some basics. Parking can be a bit tricky in this area – I mean, it’s Dubrovnik, so that’s not exactly shocking – but the hotel staff actually helped coordinate something reasonable.

What really sold me on this place, though, was the attention to detail and that 9.7 rating honestly feels earned. It’s not trying to be flashy or oversell itself, but everything just works the way it should. The Wi-Fi is solid, the common areas are inviting without being crowded, and you get the sense that the management actually cares about running a good hotel rather than just churning through bookings. If you’re looking for something that feels more like staying in a really well-run local spot rather than a generic chain, Sweet Dream 2 delivers on that front. Just book early if you’re planning a summer visit – places like this that get it right tend to fill up once word gets around.

  The apartment has all you need and is in a very good location. You have a nice view from the balcony, which is quite large. It also has a power socket which is convenient if you need to work or similar. The kitchen is well equiped, the bed is comfy. The building itself is tidy and you can leave/enter it from two sides. The supermarket and pharmacy are on the other side of the road down the building. There's a bakery close by on the same street.

  Great location in walking distance to the promenade, shops, great restaurants and hiking trails with sea and Mountain views. Lovely terrace. Super well equipped.

  Excellent apartment, clean and organized. It's even spacier than it appears on the pictures. The SMART TV was a welcomed surprise as you're able to access your Netflix & Prime account this way. Bonus points for having 2x AC's, 1 on the livingroom and 1 in the bedroom. The washing machine and dishwasher worked great and were easy to use.

  The apartment was the perfect stay for us. It was super comfortable, cozy and felt like home only with a picturesque view from the balcony. The kitchen had everything you might need and the appliances were high quality. The location of the apartment was great: the pharmacy and the supermarket were across the street, and the way to the beach is quite pleasant. The host Nikola met us at the house and walked us through all possible entrances and exits from the building, and gave the essential information about WiFi, using some appliances, how to get to the cafes and restaurants. In the apartment there were booklets with the additional information about the apartment and Dubrovnik. Nikola was always in touch, even during the weekend.

  Location – extra points for that, cause beach is really close, as well as supermarket and bus stop. Check in went super smooth, and manager helped us throughout our stay. Kitchen had everything we possibly needed, therefore we cooked everyday, also two sinks in bathroom for two friends stay – brilliant idea 😅
  Terrace view at night is exceptional, so get ready for beautiful dinner here! 💞
