The apartment itself has this lived-in comfort that a lot of vacation rentals try to fake but never quite nail. The terrace – and I’m talking a proper terrace here, not some tiny balcony – faces west, so you get these incredible sunset views over the Adriatic that honestly made me forget I was supposed to be exploring the city. The setup is smart too; they’ve got the living area flowing right out to the outdoor space, and the kitchen actually has everything you need if you want to grab groceries from the Konzum down the street instead of eating out every night. The whole place feels like someone’s stylish Croatian aunt let you borrow her apartment, if that makes sense.

What really sold me on this spot was how it connects to the rest of Dubrovnik. You’re a fifteen-minute walk from Lapad Beach – which, by the way, is where locals actually swim because it’s not overrun with tour groups. The bus stop is maybe three minutes away, and those city buses run pretty regularly to Pile Gate if you want to do the Old Town thing. But here’s the thing I didn’t expect: some of the best restaurants are actually in this neighborhood. There’s this little konoba called Sesame that’s tucked away nearby, and the owners treated us like family by the third night. The whole area has this authenticity that you just don’t get when you’re staying inside the medieval walls with everyone else taking the same Instagram photos. I mean, don’t get me wrong, the Old Town is spectacular, but coming back to this quiet street after a day of sightseeing felt like actually living somewhere rather than just visiting. Plus, the apartment stays surprisingly cool even in summer – something about the way it’s positioned and those thick stone walls – so you’re not blasting AC all day like you would in some of the hotels closer to the action.
