It’s tucked away on Vatroslava Lisinskog street in this quiet residential pocket that honestly feels like you’ve stumbled into where actual Dubrovnik locals live. I mean, you’re still close enough to hear the distant hum of Old Town tourists, but far enough away that you can actually sleep past 7 AM without cruise ship crowds marching past your window. The building itself has that solid, understated Croatian charm – not trying too hard to be boutique-y, just well-maintained and comfortable in its own skin.

The thing about staying here is you get this perfect balance of being connected but not overwhelmed. Walk down toward Pile Gate and you’re in the thick of things in maybe 10 minutes, but honestly? Some of my favorite moments were just wandering the residential streets around the villa, grabbing coffee at the little local spots that don’t even have English menus. The staff actually knows the neighborhood – like, really knows it. They’ll tell you which bakery opens earliest (crucial for those early morning wall walks before it gets blazing hot) and which bus routes the tourists haven’t figured out yet. The rooms are solid 4-star territory – nothing that’ll blow your mind, but everything works, the AC actually cools things down, and the beds are properly firm. I particularly loved that the windows open wide enough to get real air circulation going during those warm Adriatic evenings.

What really sells this place for me is how it handles the practical stuff that can make or break a Dubrovnik stay. Parking – which is honestly a nightmare in most of the city – is actually manageable here. The neighborhood has that lived-in feel where you can find a decent restaurant that’s not charging Old Town prices, and there’s something genuinely relaxing about coming back to a quiet street after a day of navigating stone alleys packed with tour groups. The 8.6 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it nails the fundamentals while giving you that authentic Croatian residential experience. If you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re staying in a neighborhood rather than a tourist bubble, Villa Erna gets it right.

  My family and I were very happy to stay at Villa Erna. Everything was spotless clean and had every facility inside. They view from our apartment was very beautiful and close to the beach. Also, old town wasn't far just a few mins by car or bus or taxi. Very big, thank you to Alen, who was very welcoming and was there to help you any time my family and I needed anything. I would highly recommend it to everyone.

  The cleanliness, the facilities, the ease of use, the access to the city and the sea, the staff were all excellent.
  
  What could be improved: Water was dripping from the air conditioner in one of the rooms. I'm sure if I had told the staff, they would have fixed it properly, but I didn't have time to do so.

  We stayed here during a motorcycle trip across Croatia. The host arranged for us to park in the garage under the apartments, which was very much appreciated for the security of the bikes. The apartments were very clean and well appointed, with large balconies and a lovely view of the bridge. The apartments were so reasonably priced that we got two of them for the four of us. The host was very quick to respond to messages, and meet us shortly after arrival. He gave us very good tips for getting around the city, and where to get beer, coffee, food, etc. I would highly recommend this place, and I hope to return sometime!

  Everything about Villa Erna is superb. Alen, our host, arranged pick up from the airport and when we were leaving. A lovely person who could not do enough for myself and my brother. The apartment was superb. Anyone booking here will be extremely pleased.
