Exceptional Beautifully decorated, comfortable, clean, and great location! Ana was very helpful with a list of suggestions on where to eat and things to do. There are 72 steps to get there, but well worth it! We had a small balcony, which was nice and relaxing with a view of passerby's on the wall. Within the city walls and yet away from the noise. If you go left out the front door towards the wall, then take another left, you will find the hidden gem Buza Bar. We loved our stay here!

Villa Madonna della Strada A4
You know what struck me first about Villa Madonna della Strada?
You know what struck me first about Villa Madonna della Strada? It’s tucked away on this narrow cobblestone street in Old Town where most tourists just rush past on their way to the main sights. Crijevićeva ulica is one of those side streets that feels properly medieval – I mean, you can actually hear your footsteps echoing off the stone walls as you walk to the entrance. The building itself has that weathered Dubrovnik stone look that’s been sitting here for centuries, and honestly, when you’re this close to the city walls, you sort of forget there’s a modern world beyond those ancient fortifications.
What really impressed me was how the place manages to feel intimate without being cramped. The rooms aren’t huge – this is a 3-star spot, so manage your expectations – but they’ve got character that you just don’t get in those sterile chain hotels. The owners clearly know what travelers actually need: decent Wi-Fi (which worked fine for me), air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a helicopter, and those thick stone walls that keep things surprisingly quiet even when the Old Town gets busy with day-trippers. I stayed here during peak summer season, and while the main Stradun gets absolutely packed around midday, this little corner stays relatively peaceful. You can slip out for an early morning coffee before the cruise ship crowds arrive, or honestly, just sit by your window in the evening listening to the sounds of people wandering the streets below.
The location is what really makes this place special, though. You’re literally a three-minute walk from Rector’s Palace and maybe five minutes from the main cathedral, but you’re far enough from the Pile Gate entrance that you don’t get the constant stream of tour groups marching past. I found myself using the Ploče Gate more often since it’s actually closer – most visitors don’t even know about it, but it’s way more convenient if you’re heading to the port or Banje Beach. The staff seemed to genuinely live here (not just work here), and they had those insider tips you can’t get from guidebooks – like which konoba serves the best black risotto without the tourist markup, or when the city walls are least crowded for photos. Parking is… well, it’s Dubrovnik Old Town, so park outside the walls and walk in like everyone else. But honestly, once you’re settled in this little stone maze, you won’t want to leave anyway. It’s the kind of place where you can have an authentic Dubrovnik experience without paying luxury hotel prices, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

What Our Guests Say
Exceptional Perfect location! It was quiet at night for sleeping and the air conditioning was refreshing to come back to. A few steps from amazing coffee shops, restaurants, shops and Buza beach:)
Fabulous! A lovely, nicely decorated and clean little 2 storey apartment superbly located in the old town of Dubrovnik. It is right near the Buza Bar which is where you can swim (and jump from heights if you're game). The host organised our transfer from the airport and was very kind and accommodating with a late check out. Many restaurants are nearby.
What could be improved: Please note that you do have to take your luggage through the old town on foot and up some stairs - in the town and in the apartment. There is no luggage storage in the apartment after check-out but there are services available nearby.
Excellent! Location was excellent. Ana was so helpful. Any questions we had she answered very quickly. The apartment was very clean and comfortable.
Wonderful old town apartment Comfortable 2 floor room in Old Town
Amazing stay Great stay! The whole team was fantastic, apt was awesome, great location. I saw a few bad reviews about ‘too many stairs’ old town is ALL stairs!!! Don’t visit if you have issues with stairs. The apt was perfect location, clean, the team was super responsive with answers to questions- they also offered a really great fast laundry service. I’d stay here again and again!! Thank you to the team.
What could be improved: Nothing everything was fantastic
Excellent location, great staff and a spacious eoom Fantastic location, clean, spacious room.
Great full place. we liked the location
What could be improved: Nothing is perfect
Very nice and cozy place with amazing stuff It’s quiet
What could be improved: Steps- but they are everywhere if you are off Main Street
Beautiful and comfortable place to stay in the center of the old city. 10 meters from Buza beach and yet you do not hear From the moment we booked they got in touch letting us know we would be picked up at the gate so we would not be wondering around trying to find it. There was fruit on the table. Clean and comfortable beds (sofa bed and upstairs a double bed) The aircon worked really well. Lovely view from the window. The owners were available if we needed them. It was such a nice place, I would recommend it to anyone. There were a few stairs to climb to get to it but my elderly mother managed to get up there so unless you have real mobility problems then you would be fine. I loved how the place was decorated. Croatia is such a welcoming place and its people so friendly and helpful. Everything is easy and transparent…not hidden costs or fees just easy. I will go back for sure and stay at this place. The street is quiet and yet so close to Buza beach / bar. I loved it.
What could be improved: There is nothing I did not like.
