Tucked away on a quiet street just below Dubrovnik’s famous walls, this four-star gem sits in one of those spots that locals probably wish they could keep secret. Here’s what I love about the location: you’re literally a three-minute walk from the Pile Gate, but you’re not dealing with the chaos of staying right on Stradun. Pod Đurđevom crkvom street is one of those narrow, cobblestone lanes that feels authentically Dubrovnik without the constant stream of day-trippers wheeling suitcases past your window at 6 AM. The fact that couples rate this place so highly makes complete sense — there’s something undeniably romantic about having your own little corner of the old town. Plus, and this is huge for Dubrovnik, they actually have free private parking on site. I mean, if you’ve ever tried to park in the old town, you know this is basically like finding gold.
The accommodations here strike that perfect balance between historic charm and modern comfort. You’ll find stone walls and traditional Croatian touches, but everything feels fresh and well-maintained — not like you’re staying in a museum. If you're looking for a little solitude and a beautiful property, Villa Pizzelli can't be beat. It was our first visit to Dubrovnik and since we had a rent a car, we opted to stay at a place where we could relax and drive about 20 minutes to see the sights of Dubrovnik. We really enjoyed the garden, lovely pool area and outdoor kitchen. The house also has foosball and a pool table. It was great to cook and eat in. The hosts are super responsive and were very kind to provide several beverages.

Nice house for the price and working airconditioner, the pool area and outside bbq place were very nice.
What could be improved: It was quite far from dubrovnik and old town but luckily our host Robert arranged taxis for us and personally drove us to the store when we needed. The house is up in the mountains so the internet did not work but luckily the house was equipped with a working wifi.
We stayed at Villa Pizzelli for a week from 18th May. Even before we arrived, Robert, the owner bought groceries on our behalf, including finding vegan options which would have taken extra time and effort which was very much appreciated.
The villa itself was spotless and beautifully appointed and comfortable. It had most things you need for preparing and cooking meals and it had everything else you need re towels/linen etc. Being able to use a washing machine was very convenient.
It was spacious enough so different family groups can still have space if desired.
The pool area again was spotless. The pool didn't have chemicals in and every now and again, small birds would dive in for a quick drink. There were a variety of birds and birdsong filled the air at all times. It was the perfect temperature and I swam every day, even early morning and night.
The villa is nestled amongst olive groves in the terraced hills. I can't emphasize how beautiful the area is and being surrounded by nature and wildlife was good for the soul.
Located about a 20 minute, picturesque drive from Dubrovnik.
I normally get homesick after a few days but I didn't want to leave this place, shedding a few tears as we drove away.
Robert and his family were on hand to keep the outside areas clean and tidy and provided lifts to the local shops and the hotel where we spent our final day (we had a late flight). The gardens produce a variety of vegetables for guests arriving later in the summer. Robert even gave us a leaving gift.
What could be improved: This isn't to do with the villa but just for you to be aware that groceries prices are higher than the UK and the closer supermarkets don't have a lot of choice.

The stay at Villa Pizzelli was simply amazing. To begin with, the house is situated in solitude, away from crowded places in a picturesque area not far from Dubrovnik. The house is simply amazing, it is equipped with everything you might need. There is an outstanding summer kitchen outside, very clean pool there is enough space to enjoy a relaxing holiday. The host Robert is unbelievably helpful and kind, he helped us to book a boat tour with his friends to see the islands nearby. The house was really superb!
What could be improved: The only problem is that we did not stay for longer.
location was excellent if you desire a quite place to relax. However, it is extremely hard to find, therefore not many uber drivers are willing to come pick you up. Neither my friends or I had any phone reception and the wifi was very average, however that only impacted us when trying to order food. There are good options to order food and have it delivered which is a major bonus.
What could be improved: Not a lot. Finding uber drivers and ordering food was a struggle but the owners accommodated for that by offering to take us to the supermarkets and the bus top on the day of checkout.
