Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Dubrovnik over the years, and Apartment Ana is honestly one of those gems that makes you want to keep it secret. It’s tucked away on Ulica Mata Vodopića in Lapad – which, if you’re not familiar with the area, is this residential neighborhood that’s actually where a lot of locals live. You’re about a 15-minute walk from the main Lapad beach and maybe 20 minutes to the Old Town if you take the coastal path (which you absolutely should, especially in the evening when the light hits the water just right).
What struck me first was how quiet it gets here at night. I mean, you’re still close enough to everything that matters, but you don’t have that constant hum of tourists that you get closer to the walls. Ana – the owner – clearly knows what she’s doing. The apartment itself feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a rental, if that makes sense. There’s this attention to detail that you don’t usually see… like, the coffee machine actually works well, the shower has proper water pressure, and the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every ten minutes. Small things, but honestly, these are the things that make or break a stay when you’re trying to get work done or just decompress after walking those medieval streets all day.
The location thing is tricky to explain without sounding like a brochure, but here’s the deal – Lapad is where you want to be if you’re planning to stay more than a couple nights. You’ve got the Konzum supermarket about five minutes away (crucial for morning coffee supplies), and there’s this little bakery on the way to the beach that does these incredible burek pastries. The bus to Old Town runs regularly, but honestly, the walk is half the experience. You pass through these neighborhoods where you can actually see how people live here, not just the tourist version of Dubrovnik. Plus, parking isn’t the nightmare it is closer to the center – Ana can actually give you solid advice on street parking, which saved me probably 30 euros a day compared to the hotel lots.
The apartment gets morning light but stays cool in the afternoon, which is perfect during summer months when the heat can be pretty intense. I stayed there in September and again in May, and both times the temperature inside was just right without cranking the AC. There’s this little balcony where you can sit with your morning coffee and actually hear birds instead of tour groups – sounds cheesy, but after a few days in the old city crowds, you’ll appreciate it. That 9.9 rating isn’t just people being nice; Ana responds to messages quickly, the place is exactly as advertised, and she genuinely seems to care that you have a good experience. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself already planning your next Dubrovnik trip before you’ve even checked out.

Everything was more than perfect for our stay in Dubrovnik. The appartment is located so close to the old city that everything needed is nearby. The appartment itself is clean and comfy, very well equipped and has one small, but beautiful garden infront of it, nice for relaxing or having breakfast.
Nika is such an attentive and warm host. So, we can fully recommend!Rachel from United Kingdom – 18 October 2024 (9/10)
Location was perfect and easily accessible to the beach, city walls, cable cars, and many cafes, restaurants and supermarket.
Nika the host met us from the bus and took us to show us the apartment which was very much appreciated and messaged us mid stay to ensure everything was ok.
Exceptionally well equipped – didn’t need anything (there was even an umbrella!)
What could be improved: The garden and path to the property was a little overgrown, however this could be with us visiting in October.
Everything else was perfect.Deborah from United Kingdom – 21 September 2024 (10/10)
Everything about this lovely Croatian apartment. Such a warm welcome from Ana who met us at the bus stop to show us to our holiday home. I felt like we'd known Nika for ages and came to make sure we had settled in. Great care and thought had gone into making sure everything was in place to make our stay worry free and perfect from start to finish. The location is 5 minutes walk from Ploce gate in Dubrovnik… 5 minutes to the cable car… 5 minutes to the Banje beach.. and near to everything you could possibly need to explore Dubrovnik. A home from home .. wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

We had a lovely vacation! The studio was very clean. Nika and Ana were wonderful and sweet hosts. Nika remembered my birthday and gave me a cake, that was such a nice surprise. They were always available for questions and responded very quickly.
The studio was not very big but for two people it was perfectly fine! We had everything we needed. It was nice that we could cook and there were a lot of soft and fresh towels that we could use. The terrace outside was very nice and cozy.
Perfect location! Very close to everything but still feels private. Good price for the area! We had a lovely stay.
And the air conditioning was very much appreciated and needed.
Thanks so much to Nika and Ana for hosting us!
What could be improved: Nothing we disliked. Just be aware that you are booking the studio, on booking.com you also see photos of a bigger apartment in the listing!Michael from Isle of Man – 4 July 2024 (10/10)
