Hotel Description
You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to Apartment Eni on Janjevska Street – it’s this quiet residential road that most tourists never find, tucked away from the main drag leading to Old Town. But honestly, that’s exactly why this place works so well. The apartment sits in one of those typical Dubrovnik stone buildings, and while it might not scream luxury from the outside, step inside and you’ll get why it’s pulling a 9.4 rating.
The space itself feels authentically Croatian but with all the modern touches that actually matter. I mean, the kitchen has everything you need if you want to grab fresh seafood from the market near Pile Gate (about a 10-minute walk) and cook it yourself – which, let’s be real, saves you a fortune compared to restaurant prices in the old city. The bedroom gets this gorgeous morning light, and if you’re lucky enough to snag the unit with the small balcony, you can actually catch glimpses of the Adriatic between the neighboring buildings. What really struck me was how quiet it gets at night – you’re close enough to walk to Stradun in fifteen minutes, but far enough that you won’t hear drunk tourists stumbling back from the bars at 2 AM.
Here’s the thing about staying here though – you need to be okay with a bit of a climb. Janjevska Street has some steps (welcome to Dubrovnik, right?), and while it’s not Mount Srđ or anything, it’s definitely more uphill than the photos let on. But that slight inconvenience is totally worth it for the authentic neighborhood feel. Your neighbors are actually locals, not just other tourists, and there’s this little bakery about three blocks down that opens ridiculously early and makes the best burek I had in the entire city. The host was super responsive too – I had questions about bus schedules to the airport and they got back to me within like twenty minutes with detailed directions. Oh, and parking – if you’re driving, they can usually sort something out nearby, which is honestly a miracle in this city. The whole experience just felt more real than those sterile hotel rooms in Lapad, you know? It’s the kind of place where you can spread out your day trip maps, store leftover wine from your Korčula island hopping, and actually live like a temporary local instead of just passing through.

Jet from South Korea – 9 February 2025 (9/10)
The location is at the top of a hill, so it was a bit difficult to wa k up after buying groceries & stuffs.
however, the apartment host bought the necessary kitchen supplies (kitchen towels, dishwasher detergent, etc.) and brought them to me the next morning, so I was able to get through it without any major difficulties.
What could be improved: On the first day, the parking lot was narrow, so it was difficult to park for a while, and the location was a bit complicated because the road was so tight even when calling a taxi to visit.Labros from Greece – 29 December 2024 (10/10)
