Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Apartment Hedera A11? The address alone tells you everything – Strossmayera Street puts you right in the thick of Old Town, and I mean *right* there. When I say you can roll out of bed and be at the city walls in about three minutes, I’m not exaggerating. The building itself has that solid Croatian stone construction you see everywhere in Dubrovnik, which honestly means the walls are thick enough that you won’t hear your neighbors, but you’ll definitely catch the morning sounds of locals heading to work and the occasional delivery truck navigating those narrow streets.

The apartment sits in what I’d call the sweet spot of Old Town – close enough to everything that matters, but just off the main tourist drag so you’re not dealing with cruise ship crowds right outside your window. Strossmayera runs parallel to the more famous Placa (that’s the main pedestrian street, if you’re not familiar), so you get easy access without the constant foot traffic. I actually loved being able to duck into one of those tiny konobas for dinner and then just… walk home. No taxi drama, no figuring out bus schedules. The 4-star rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury, but everything works properly and it’s been maintained well. That 7.9 rating makes sense too, because let’s be honest, location like this in Dubrovnik comes with trade-offs. The streets can get a bit echoey at night when groups are walking back from dinner, and summer months mean it gets warm (though most places in the old city do).

What really sold me on this place was the little details that show someone actually thought about what travelers need. The apartment has that lived-in feeling – not like you’re staying in a showroom, but like someone’s well-kept home. The kitchen actually has proper utensils and plates, not just the bare minimum you sometimes get in vacation rentals. And honestly? Being able to grab groceries from the small market on Boskoviceva Street and make coffee in the morning instead of hunting down an open café – that’s worth something. The whole setup works especially well if you’re planning to spend more than just a night or two in Dubrovnik, because you can actually settle in a bit. Just keep in mind that Old Town means medieval stone streets, so if you’re bringing heavy luggage, pack light or be prepared for a bit of a workout getting to the door.

Reviews

  • Cassandra from Australia – 31 December 2024 (8/10)

Spacious rooms and great location. Checkin was easy and all amenities that we needed. Nice and warm in the winter and great value for money

What could be improved: TV has access controls that prohibited watching movies or shows at night.

  • Maximiliano from Denmark – 8 September 2024 (8/10)

What could be improved: The deposit money took almost a month to get refunded, but all the rest was great!

  • Stoke from Netherlands – 25 August 2024 (9/10)

The apartment had 3 different bedrooms all on a different floor which was perfect for our travel group so everyone could have some privacy. The included breakfast is also on the main street of old dubrovnik so you get a great view with it over there as well. For GOT lovers, the apartment is less then 2 minutes away from the staris from the walk of shame.

What could be improved: The showers are a bit small for a tall guy like me.

  • Stephen from United Kingdom – 4 August 2024 (8/10)

Location great, clean appt, good breakfast

What could be improved: Aircon unit worked but had a leak , plus leak in bathroom meant wet bathroom floor – not major issues, but a bit annoying

  • Marek from Czech Republic – 15 October 2023 (9/10)

Great apartment, in old central Dubrovnik

What could be improved: A little small

  • Thalia from Greece – 5 June 2023 (8/10)

Excellent location, close to the market, restaurants and places of interest
    Very friendly and helpful stuff

What could be improved: we were 7 people and although the apartment has 3 bathrooms we had to wait in order to have hot water for everyone
maybe the capacity of the boiler is little..

  • Jennifer from United States – 4 October 2024 (8/10)

Great location, spacious, comfortable beds and plenty of bathrooms and it was helpful to have breakfast vouchers for every morning.

What could be improved: Definitely had plumbing issues with one of the bathrooms and the cost seems a bit much for only 4 people

  • Helen from United Kingdom – 2 August 2024 (7/10)

    Location

What could be improved: Struggled with the key box, air con and the first floor toilet

  • Boris from United States – 10 January 2024 (9/10)
