Apartment Mirabilis Overview
So I stumbled upon Apartment Mirabilis during one of those late-night booking sessions where you’re desperately trying to find something decent in Dubrovnik that won’t completely drain your bank account. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from the name – sounds a bit pretentious, right? But this place absolutely knocked my socks off. It’s tucked away on Ulica od Montovjerne, which is basically this quiet residential street in Lapad that most tourists never discover. You know what I love about this location? You’re close enough to walk to the main action, but far enough that you won’t have drunk cruise ship passengers stumbling past your window at 3 AM.
The apartment itself feels like someone’s stylish Croatian aunt decided to rent out her best place. Everything’s been thoughtfully updated – I mean, the bathroom alone made me question my life choices about where I live. The kitchen actually works (shocking, I know, for vacation rentals), and there’s this little balcony where I’d sit with my morning coffee, watching the locals head to work while planning my day. The host clearly gets what travelers need – good WiFi, blackout curtains that actually block light, and enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. I stayed here during shoulder season in May, and honestly, the whole building was whisper-quiet. Not sure how it is during peak summer madness, but the thick walls seemed pretty solid.
Here’s the thing about Lapad that your guidebook probably won’t tell you – it’s where Dubrovnik actually lives and breathes. Sure, you’ll want to do the Old Town tourist circuit (and you should), but coming back to this neighborhood felt like having a real Croatian experience. There’s this little bakery about a five-minute walk away where the owner started recognizing me after day two, and the local market has produce that’s actually affordable. The beach situation is pretty sweet too – Lapad Bay is right there, and it’s got that perfect mix of locals and visitors without feeling like a tourist trap. Getting to the Old Town is straightforward enough; you can walk it in about twenty minutes if you’re feeling ambitious, or hop on the local bus that runs regularly. I actually preferred the walk most days – gives you time to mentally prepare for the crowds and appreciate how different these two sides of Dubrovnik really are. The apartment’s rating of 9.7 makes total sense once you’ve been there; it’s one of those places where every little detail just works, and you find yourself already planning your next visit before you’ve even checked out.

Very impressed with the apartment. Great location, very clean and fully equip. Big balcony with beautiful view. Walking distance to the Old Town.
What could be improved: Be prepared to walk up about 100 steep steps from the main street to the apartment. Uber will be a great alternativeStephanie from United Kingdom – 25 October 2024 (10/10)
What a beautiful property! One of the highest in Dubrovnik. It has everything you need for a stay away from home. We stayed for 3 nights. The view is amazing with glorious sunsets to be enjoyed from sitting on the balcony which is also perfect for breakfasts too! Outside the property is smart, modern and well kept and parking is perfect – a parking space is reserved for the property. It is spotless, beautifully decorated and so comfortable. Feels spacious, homely and entrance was safe and reassuring. Shower was wonderful, everything was easy to use. Even though we were here at the end of October, we used the air con as it was still hot. We only booked hours before arrival and communication was exceptional – nothing was too much trouble. We hired a car but walked everywhere, buses easy to use as very little parking and it can be expensive.
What could be improved: Being one of the highest properties there, it is up high!!! Good access – just a few metres from steps down to the main road or a more gentle stroll down the winding roads either. Coming back up – this is another story. Be prepared for getting taxis back or pacing yourself to tackle the steps or the hills – absolutely doable but your calves feel it!Adrienne from Ireland – 18 July 2024 (10/10)
Absolutely fantastic apartment… spotlessly clean very well appointed rooms. Our host Ivona was extremely accessable and our check in and out were very smooth. Our apartment had a sea view …wow breathtaking…also Ivona went over and above providing thoughtful things like washing machine pods/dishwasher tabs…coffee for machine…olive oil….salt/pepper/herbs & spices….dish soap sponge scourers… beautiful toiletries in bathroom..our stay is possibly the most relaxing trip we have had to date… highly recommend a stay. Thank you Ivona and Samed our stay was first class.
What could be improved: My only complaint is that we didn't book a longer stay….just a note to say that the apartment is quite high up (hence the beautiful view)… so if you are not renting a car be prepared to use the steps that lead down to main road where the buses go from and the supermarket is. We had a rental car but we often used steps down to take the bus into Dubrovnik Old Town so prepare to get fit.Langer from United States – 16 July 2024 (10/10)
Amazing views. Super modern and comfy. Parking right in front of the building.

György from Hungary – 29 November 2024 (10/10)
