When I first walked up to Apartment Nia Superior, I’ll be honest — the name doesn’t quite capture what you’re getting here. This is actually a really well-appointed four-star property tucked into one of Dubrovnik’s quieter residential streets, just far enough from the tourist chaos but close enough that you can walk to the Old Town in about ten minutes. The building itself has that Mediterranean charm without being overly polished, and there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels more like a local neighborhood than a hotel district.
The Location Sweet Spot
Here’s what I love about Ulica od Nuncijate — you’re basically in this perfect bubble where you can actually hear yourself think, but you’re not stuck way out in the suburbs. The street has that authentic Croatian residential feel, with locals going about their daily business and small cafes that aren’t necessarily targeting tourists. I mean, you can walk to Pile Gate in less than fifteen minutes, and honestly, after spending days navigating the packed stone streets of the Old Town, coming back to this quieter area feels like a relief. Plus, and this is huge for Dubrovnik, there’s actually free parking on site — you have no idea how rare that is around here.
The Space Itself
The apartment setup works really well, especially if you’re traveling as a couple (which seems to be their sweet spot based on the feedback I’ve seen). The room has this clean, modern feel without being sterile, and there’s enough space to actually unpack and settle in for a few days. What I appreciated most was the attention to practical details — good lighting, plenty of outlets, and a kitchenette that’s actually functional if you want to grab groceries from the local market and make your own breakfast. The whole place feels thoughtfully designed rather than just thrown together.
Getting Around and Dining
One thing that surprised me was how easy it is to explore different parts of Dubrovnik from here. You’re not locked into just the Old Town experience — Lapad Peninsula is a quick bus ride away if you want proper beaches, and the cable car station is totally walkable. For food, you’ve got options beyond the tourist traps. There’s this local restaurant about three blocks away that serves incredible seafood risotto, and the morning bakery run becomes part of your routine. You know what’s nice? You can actually live a bit like a local here instead of feeling like you’re just passing through.
Why Guests Love It
After staying here, I get why couples rate this place so highly — it strikes that perfect balance between being close to everything but not overwhelmed by it. The combination of free parking, a great location score, and that residential neighborhood feel makes it feel like you’ve found something special that not everyone knows about. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Dubrovnik, but it delivers on the things that actually matter when you’re exploring this incredible city. Sometimes the best accommodations are the ones that just work seamlessly in the background while you focus on the experience.
