Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of places in Dubrovnik’s Old Town, and honestly? Most of them are either tourist traps or so cramped you can barely turn around. But Apartment Sv. Andrija – well, it’s actually one of those hidden gems that makes you feel like you stumbled onto something special.
The location on Na Andriji is just perfect, and I mean that in the most practical way possible. You’re literally steps from Stradun (that’s the main marble street everyone walks down), but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the constant stream of cruise ship crowds at your doorstep. The building itself has that authentic Dubrovnik feel – thick limestone walls that keep things cool even in July, and you know what? The Wi-Fi actually works, which isn’t always a given in these old stone buildings. When I checked in, the owner was genuinely helpful about restaurant recommendations, not just pointing me toward the obvious touristy spots but mentioning this little konoba near Pile Gate that locals actually go to.
What really got me was how they’ve managed to blend the old-world charm with stuff that actually matters when you’re traveling. The apartment has proper air conditioning (trust me, you’ll need it in summer), a kitchen that’s actually functional if you want to grab groceries from the morning market near the harbor, and – this is key – the shower has decent water pressure. I know it sounds mundane, but after walking around those steep cobblestone streets all day, it makes a difference. The beds are comfortable too, not those rock-hard European mattresses you sometimes get stuck with. There’s something about waking up and hearing the church bells from St. Blaise in the morning instead of traffic noise… it just sets the whole tone differently.
The 9.3 rating honestly makes sense once you’re there. It’s not trying to be some fancy five-star place – it’s better than that, actually. It’s the kind of spot where you can store your luggage early, walk the city walls before the heat hits, then come back and actually relax instead of feeling like you’re camping out in a hotel room. The whole area gets pretty quiet after the day-trippers leave around 6 PM, so you get that magical Old Town experience without the chaos. Plus, parking can be a nightmare in Dubrovnik, but they helped sort that out too – there’s a garage about a five-minute walk away that they work with.
I mean, three stars doesn’t tell the whole story here. Sometimes you find places that just work, you know? Where everything feels thoughtfully done rather than just meeting some checklist. The stone streets outside your window, the sound of people chatting in the little square nearby, being able to walk to Lokrum Island’s ferry in ten minutes – it all adds up to feeling like you’re actually staying in Dubrovnik, not just visiting it.

The apartment is spotlessly clean, is very well equipped, so comfortable and a perfect central location. The host meeting us at the shuttle bus was another bonus.

The BEST location! In the middle of Old Town.
Great facilities, had most of what we needed.
Clean.
Lovely host! He carried our 27kg suitcase up all the steps, we felt very guilty but very appreciative.
What could be improved: Very very minor, probably not worth noting but maybe add some things like salt and oil in the kitchen. There was tea and coffee, so this is purely additional.Meghan from United States – 16 September 2024 (10/10)
Amazing location right in the old town. Host was very kind–met us at taxi drop off outside city gate and helped us carry luggage through the old town (be prepared for LOTS of steps/stairs–smaller luggage would be easier). The apartment was beautiful and just as pictured–full kitchen was very useful/nice to have. Made the walk to Banje Beach–also highly recommend!

The apartment was far more spacious than it looks in the photos, it was in a great place although 103 steps from the street to the apartment. It was clean and beds very comfortable with all facilities like microwave, cooker, aircon, fridge, freezer etc that you could ever need.
What could be improved: Nothing
