I’ll be honest – when I first saw Apartments Petra tucked away on Dinka Ranjine street, I wasn’t expecting much from the exterior. But you know what? Sometimes the best places in Dubrovnik’s Old Town hide behind those modest stone facades, and this one’s a perfect example.
The location is actually brilliant once you get your bearings. You’re literally steps from Stradun (that’s the main marble street everyone walks down), but far enough off it that you won’t hear the constant chatter of tour groups at 7 AM. I mean, the Old Town can get pretty intense during peak season – cruise ship passengers everywhere, restaurants packed to the brim – but Dinka Ranjine stays relatively peaceful. The apartment itself has that authentic Dalmatian feel without being too rustic, if that makes sense. Stone walls, decent air conditioning (trust me, you’ll need it in July), and honestly, the kitchen setup is way better than most places I’ve stayed in the old city. You can actually cook a proper meal here, which is great because eating out every night in Dubrovnik will drain your wallet fast.
What really won me over was the little details that show someone actually cares about this place. The shower has proper water pressure – not always a given in these old buildings – and there’s enough storage space that you’re not living out of your suitcase. The owners clearly know what travelers need because there’s good WiFi throughout, and they’ve managed to keep the authentic character while making everything functional. You’re also ridiculously close to some of the best parts of the old city that tourists often miss. There’s this tiny konoba (local tavern) called Dalmatino just around the corner where locals actually eat, and you can walk to the city walls in about three minutes. The morning fish market near the harbor? Five-minute stroll, and you’ll see the city waking up before the day-trippers arrive. Honestly, staying here feels like you’re part of the neighborhood rather than just passing through. The only minor thing I’d mention is that if you’re coming with lots of luggage, those old stone streets can be a bit tricky to navigate – but that’s true anywhere in the Old Town, and the location more than makes up for it. During quieter months like late spring or early fall, this place is absolutely perfect for experiencing Dubrovnik the way it’s meant to be experienced.

The fact that Maljet met us and also helped with our luggage it was really appreciated. He was great.
What could be improved: The washing machine needed to have instructions. The actual facilities listed were different to the description on booking.com. Paper towelling and tissues would be useful
The location of the property was central but just off the busy main streets. It was an ideal size for the length of stay we had (4days, 3 nights). It was nicely decorated and was clean. There was plenty of brochures on offer in the accommodation for anyone who is a late planner. The stay included breakfast at the Festival Cafe which was great. It was not far from the apartment and the selection available was very good.
What could be improved: Although back from the main street, its close by to hotels and we were sometimes woken up at 4am in the morning by the kitchen staff arriving into work. If your a light sleeper this might be a problem.
Correspondence from Petra's Apartment was great, they were very responsive and informative.
We met at the restaurant to get the key and for someone to show us the way to the apartment to let us in, and it was a nice opportunity to meet their friendly local staff and have a short guided introduction to the City when we arrived.
We enjoyed the convenience that the included breakfast was at a cafe, and it was delicious.
What could be improved: We were not certain the tap water was drinkable and bottled water for drinking would have been appreciated.
The apartment is ground floor on a side street, and sounds from the street outside can be heard in the apartment so it would not be considered quiet.
Location: easy access to the „main street“. So we didnt have to carry our luggages up. The apartment is located on the 2nd floor but the Host (Petrica) and her team help us out and arranged that our luggages are carried up when we arrived and carried down when we had our checkout. The property is well equipped, clean and furnished. There were enough towels, tissue and blankets. Breakfast was included in our reservation and we had it at Cafe Fiesta, which is a short walk from the apartment. Breakfast has a lot of option and was offered at quite reasonable timing (you can go early or a little later).
What could be improved: None that we could think of.

Brilliant location in Dubrovnik Old Town. Excellent air con which is really important during the summer season. The apartment had all the necessities and included a Kitchenette, microwave, fridge and washing machine. The host Petrica was responsive with any queries, she was also able to get us a last minute booking at a fine dining restaurant which was booked out for months. Matej from Cafe Festival, who was on ground in Dubrovnik met us at the meeting point - Cafe Festival. He advised in conjunction with the apartment booking/host and Cafe Festival, they provided a complimentary drink on arrival and daily breakfasts up to midday, which was great. Matej briefed us on things we should know, showed us to our accom and answered any questions we had. Very happy with the booking.
What could be improved: Most may say stairs going to the apartment but I’ve been to Dubrovnik a few times now and you cannot avoid stairs anywhere. Overall there wasn’t anything I didn’t like.

Very modern, clean and excellent location! The staff were so friendly and helpful. For a stay in Dubrovnik I couldn’t recommend anywhere nicer! It had air conditioning and the sofa bed was comfortable for our sons. The toiletries were lovely, great shower. Nice breakfast in the morning.
