It’s tucked away in the old town in a way that feels authentically Croatian – you know, the kind of spot where you’ll hear church bells in the morning and smell someone’s grandmother cooking fish stew wafting up from the courtyard below.

The apartment itself is what I’d call perfectly sized for two people who actually like each other. The one bedroom doesn’t feel cramped because whoever designed this place understood that the terrace is really your second living room. And what a terrace it is – I mean, you’re literally looking out over those famous red-tiled rooftops that everyone comes to Dubrovnik to photograph, except you get to sip your morning coffee while doing it instead of fighting crowds with a selfie stick. The furniture is simple but comfortable, nothing fancy, just good solid pieces that won’t fall apart when you sit down after a long day of walking those stone streets (and trust me, your feet will be tired). The kitchen has everything you need if you want to grab some fresh fish from the morning market near Pile Gate – which, by the way, is about a seven-minute walk through some absolutely gorgeous narrow streets.

What really sold me on this place, though, was the attention to detail that you don’t always get in vacation rentals. The shower actually has good water pressure (miracle in old town Dubrovnik), the Wi-Fi works throughout the apartment, and there’s decent air conditioning for those sweltering July afternoons when even the locals are hiding indoors. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no fumbling around with lockboxes or confusing instructions. You’re close enough to the main drag that you can stumble home after dinner at one of the konobas, but far enough off Stradun that you won’t be kept awake by late-night revelers. I actually slept better here than I have in some much pricier hotels, partly because the thick stone walls keep things surprisingly quiet. One small thing to note – if you’re planning to visit during peak season, book this place early because word gets around fast among people who know Dubrovnik well, and honestly, once you stay here, you’ll understand why the rating is perfect.
