The location in Lapad is actually perfect if you’re smart about it. Sure, it’s not right in Old Town where all the cruise ship crowds pack in, but that’s exactly why it works. You’re about a 15-minute walk to Lapad Beach – and trust me, after spending scorching July afternoons dodging selfie sticks near the city walls, you’ll appreciate having a quiet neighborhood to retreat to. The local bus stop is practically around the corner, so getting into Dubrovnik’s center is no hassle at all. What I really loved though was discovering that little bakery on the main Lapad road – grab some burek there in the morning and eat it surrounded by Ivana’s roses. That’s the kind of moment you can’t plan for.

The apartment itself feels genuinely homey, not like someone just threw together rental furniture and called it a day. Everything’s clean and functional (the AC actually works properly, which… well, you know how that goes in some Croatian rentals), and there’s this lived-in comfort that makes you want to linger over morning coffee. Parking was surprisingly easy too – there’s space right there, no hunting around narrow medieval streets or paying ridiculous fees.
