Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Lapad Cove on Ulica Petra Zoranića, I wasn’t expecting much. The street’s pretty quiet, tucked away from the main Lapad peninsula buzz, but that actually turned out to be one of its best features. You’re literally a three-minute walk from Lapad Beach (the locals call it “Sunset Beach” for obvious reasons), but you don’t get the constant stream of tourists dragging their suitcases past your window at 7 AM.
The thing about this place is that it gets the balance right – and I mean, after staying at maybe a dozen hotels in Dubrovnik over the years, that’s not as common as you’d think. The lobby has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream “tourist trap,” and the staff actually remembers your name after the first day. I stayed there in late September, which is honestly the perfect time because the summer crowds have thinned out but the sea’s still warm enough for swimming. The rooms face either the cove or the hillside, and while everyone fights for sea views, I actually preferred the hillside – quieter, and you get these amazing morning light patterns through the trees.
What really sold me on Lapad Cove was the attention to details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a week. The WiFi works everywhere (crucial if you’re trying to work remotely), the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a jet engine, and – this might sound silly – but the shower pressure is fantastic. You know how some hotels have those eco-friendly showerheads that barely produce a trickle? Not here. Plus, there’s actual parking, which anyone who’s driven in Dubrovnik will tell you is worth its weight in gold. The hotel’s about a 15-minute bus ride from Old Town, and the bus stop is right there on Šetalište Kralja Zvonimira. Bus 6 runs pretty frequently, though I’d recommend getting a day pass if you’re planning multiple trips.
The restaurant situation is interesting – the hotel has decent food, but honestly, some of the best meals I had were at the little konoba about two blocks down toward the water. The hotel staff will point you toward the obvious tourist spots, but if you ask nicely, they’ll also tell you where they actually eat. That’s how I found this tiny place that serves the best black risotto I’ve ever had, and it’s literally a five-minute walk away. The pool area gets good sun most of the day, and there’s usually a decent breeze coming off the water, so it never feels oppressive even in peak summer heat. One small thing – if you’re a light sleeper, maybe pack earplugs. It’s generally quiet, but there’s a church nearby and those bells start early. Then again, after a day of exploring Dubrovnik’s stone streets, you might find you sleep through anything.

We were 2 adults and 2 teenagers visiting Lapad Cove in early June. Fantastic service by the host and her network regard – Maija-liisa from Denmark – 30 June 2025 (9/10)
Quiet location close to the Sunset beach, grocery store and restaurants. Two good bedrooms, one with balcony. Clean apartment, nice kitchen and bathroom.
What could be improved: A bit small balcony and limited furniture in the seating area in the combined kitchen/dining/living room.Spacious appartment – Dr from Germany – 25 April 2025 (10/10)
The apartment was spacious, clean and situated very nicely. The bus line 4 was very convenient to reach downtown. Two grocery stores around the corner made it easy to find supplies for our needs.

It is a great place for a family vacation. There are a lot of restaurants within walking distance. Lapad beach is less than 10 min walk.
The apartment is in a quiet area, so you can enjoy and relax in the evenings.
The old town of Dubrovnik is easily accessible on public transport, and the bus stop is 2 min away from the apartment.
If you rent a car as we did, you will be able to park in a sheltered parking spot outside of the apartment. We had a great time at Lapad Cove and recommend it. – Kirsty from United Kingdom – 5 August 2024 (9/10)
Our host was very helpful before, during and at the end of our stay. The apartment was lovely: spacious, clean and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the shared garden. The balcony also had a drying rack for our beachwear and there is a washing machine too which was very handy. Location of the apartment was great for catching the bus for the 10 minute ride into the Old City but also for the local beach, restaurants and shops. Gruz and the port are also a short bus ride or 30 minute walk away. Taxi rank also nearby for airport journeys.
Thank you to our host!A Dubrovnik visit I’ll never forget! – Kevin from United States – 9 April 2024 (10/10)
The location is perfect! The host was wonderful! The apartment is comfortable and very adequately equipped! There’s a private parking spot! It’s close to the Old City, but just far enough to escape the crowds when you finish exploring. There’s a bus stop around the corner, from which you can take the number 6 bus for the short ten minute trip into town for less than 2 euros (free if you buy the Dubrovnik pass online), and avoid having to drive, not to mention pay the exorbitant parking fees, if you’re lucky enough to even find a parking spot! There are coffee shops, restaurants, grocery stores and many other services all around! There’s a walking path along side the cove that provides semi private access to the water for swimming or just relaxing in the Mediterranean sun! The view of the sunset at the cove is as beautiful as you’ll ever see! I could go on, but do I really need to?
What could be improved: Not a thing! We really like how near everything was, by 5-10 minutes walking you could reach supermarket, souvenir shops, bus stop an – Ema from Slovakia – 13 July 2023 (10/10)
We really like how near everything was, by 5-10 minutes walking you could reach supermarket, souvenir shops, bus stop and also beach.
What could be improved: Everything was perfectExceptional – Iskimzhi from Bulgaria – 2 June 2025 (10/10)
The location is excellent, with what we consider a great proximity to the beaches and restaurants. Apparently, even during extreme heat, the apartment remains cool thanks to the smart layout and the ability to create a cross-breeze through openings on both sides of the building.
Good – Rosana from Romania – 4 July 2025 (7/10)
Spacious apartment with secured parking space and supermarket 5 minutes from the location.
What could be improved: Although the host is very nice, the facilities left a lot to be desired. There are no nets on any window, not even in the bathroom, so after the first night we were all bitten all over. We were left with 3 rolls of toilet paper for 4 people, 5 days and not even a garbage bag. The liquid soap container was broken, the clothes drying rack was rusty, and in the kitchen we only found a coffee bag, probably left by another tourist. I can understand that tea, coffee or a one euro bottle of cold water are not mandatory, but they are part of the small attentions that show you that the host cares about your comfort and wants you to come back. Which in our case will not happen.A clean and well-located flat with a helpful host, but not comfortable or practical for a family wan – Anonymous from United Kingdom – 3 July 2025 (6/10)
The host was very helpful and communicative, assisting us with taxi bookings and recommending good local places to eat. The apartment was spotlessly clean and the shower had great water pressure. We also appreciated being allowed to check in an hour early. Having a supermarket just around the corner was really convenient too.
What could be improved: The apartment isn’t really set up for a family or for spending time indoors together. There’s no proper living space – just a very small, uncomfortable sofa and a tiny table with hard chairs – so there wasn’t anywhere to relax, play games or eat together. The TV was outdated with nothing available to watch, and the main bed creaked loudly with every movement and felt quite flimsy. I genuinely thought it might break and it impacted our sleep. The bathroom was also very narrow, which made it difficult with kids. Basic supplies were missing too – for example, the handwash dispenser was empty when we arrived.
It was also quite noisy at times – we could hear neighbours through the walls, which made it hard to sleep. At over £600 for four nights, it felt expensive for the level of comfort and facilities on offer.
If you're just using the flat as a base and don’t plan to spend time indoors, it’s clean and the host is excellent – but for a family needing time out of the heat and space to be together, it isn’t ideal.Exceptional – Marlena from Poland – 23 October 2024 (10/10)
