Hotel Description
You know what? I’ve walked past Nila’s Place probably a dozen times before I actually stayed there, and honestly, I wish I’d booked it sooner. It’s tucked right on Puzljiva ulica – which, fair warning, is one of those narrow Old Town streets where you’ll definitely hear your neighbors rolling their suitcases over the ancient stones at all hours. But here’s the thing: that’s exactly where you want to be.
The moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually cares about this place. I mean, sure, it’s got that typical Dubrovnik stone-and-beam thing going on, but Nila (who I’m assuming is the owner, though I never met her) has added these thoughtful touches that make it feel less like a tourist trap and more like… well, like someone’s really nice home that they’re letting you borrow. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star – nothing fancy, but everything works, the beds are comfortable, and the air conditioning actually keeps up with July heat, which is more than I can say for some pricier places I’ve stayed in the Old Town. The bathrooms are surprisingly spacious too, though the water pressure is sort of hit-or-miss depending on the time of day.
What really sold me on this place, though, is the location knowledge you get just by staying here. The staff – and I talked to maybe three different people during my stay – they all had these random insider tips that you just don’t get from the big hotel chains. Like, they told me the best time to hit the city walls is right at 8 AM when they open, before the cruise ship crowds arrive, and which little konoba serves the best pašticada without charging tourist prices. Plus, you’re literally a two-minute walk from Stradun, but far enough up the side streets that you can actually sleep at night without the constant chatter of late-night revelers. I actually found myself coming back to the room during the afternoon heat just to recharge, which says something about how comfortable it felt. The whole place has this relaxed, unpretentious vibe that matches its 8.2 rating perfectly – it’s really good at what it does without trying to be something it’s not. If you’re looking for a place that feels authentically Dubrovnik rather than generically Croatian-themed, and you don’t mind the occasional suitcase symphony on cobblestones, Nila’s Place is exactly what you want.

Volha from United Kingdom – 17 April 2025 (8/10)
Central location, washing machine, good family space, kitchen well equipped
What could be improved: Poor communication. No instruction on usage of safety box. Washing machine wasn't connected correctly, hence we had a leak. But fixed it ourselves, as hosts ignored our messages about Washing machine and safety boxCaitlin from Australia – 29 August 2024 (9/10)
Everything it was perfect! Clean and great location
What could be improved: Shower has hot water switch (make sure it’s on if you don’t want cold showers) only found it late in the stay.Larisa from United States – 7 August 2024 (8/10)
In old town, place was clean and neat. Quiet while a minute away from the city center.
What could be improved: No coffee, the drying rack was as old as the old city and was rusty and falling apart.Kay from United Kingdom – 5 June 2024 (9/10)
Excellent location – set back enough to avoid the crowds but not all the way to the top for the steep steps.
What could be improved: Having no outside view.Tara from United Kingdom – 30 September 2023 (9/10)
It was a great location, comfortable bed and very clean and tidy. Any questions or troubles were kindly answered promptly by the host.
What could be improved: The ventilation in the bathroom was poor (but to be expected as it is in the Old Town).Roni from United States – 12 June 2023 (9/10)
great location, spacious, comfortably furnished, good lighting and electric outlets, bathroom large and comfortable, room and places to put our stuff. nice decor.
Gemma from United Kingdom – 23 October 2022 (9/10)
The apartment was very cental, not too many stairs – 47 to be exact. It was easy to find. We had everything we needed in the apartment, it was clean and we got in a little earlier than expected so very happy all round. The directions given before leaving were brilliant with photos etc. The city was amazing.
What could be improved: The outside light didn't work.Ruben from Netherlands – 25 September 2022 (8/10)
A spacious apartment located directly in old town… Perfect!
What could be improved: The kitchen is well equipped but could use pepper (salt and oil was available) and better dishwashing facilities.Vladislav from Israel – 7 September 2022 (9/10)
I was given a clear instruction via PDF file how to get the keys and get to the apartment.
If this is your first visit to Old Town, I recommend getting a map from reception.
For a long stay, the room was well equipped.
What could be improved: Wifi is weak in the Bed Room to the point it disconnects constantly.
Works fine in the Living Room.
However, you cannot move the router around to improve the signal.Ernesto from Poland – 29 April 2025 (7/10)
