Oaza Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Oaza in Dubrovnik’s Lapad peninsula, you immediately get why couples are drawn to this place. It’s tucked away on a quiet residential street, but honestly — that’s exactly what makes it work. The building itself isn’t flashy or imposing, which I actually appreciated after dealing with the tourist crowds in the Old Town all day. This three-star property offers an intimate atmosphere that larger hotels simply cannot match.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I wish someone had told me before booking: Lapad is about a 15-minute bus ride from Dubrovnik’s famous walls, but that distance is actually a blessing. You’re close enough to hit the main sights easily, yet far enough to escape the cruise ship madness. The local bus stop is maybe a three-minute walk, and there’s this lovely tree-lined promenade down to Lapad Bay that’s perfect for evening strolls. I mean, you can grab dinner at one of the seaside restaurants and walk back without feeling like you’re fighting through Game of Thrones tour groups.
The Accommodation
My room was simple but thoughtfully arranged — nothing fancy, but everything you actually need was there. The bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up with that hotel-bed backache, and the bathroom had decent water pressure (always a gamble in older European buildings). What struck me most was how quiet it was at night. You know how some places claim to be peaceful but you still hear every conversation in the hallway? Not here. Each apartment is designed with comfort and tranquility in mind.
Neighborhood Vibes
Lapad has this residential feel that grows on you. There’s a small grocery store nearby where locals actually shop, plus a few cafes that aren’t tourist traps. The peninsula itself is pretty walkable — I’d often grab coffee and wander down to the water just because it felt natural. Parking seemed manageable if you’re driving, though I stuck to public transport. The whole area has these tree-lined streets that provide actual shade, which you’ll appreciate during summer afternoons.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Oaza isn’t going to wow you with marble lobbies or rooftop pools. What it does offer is a genuine base for exploring Dubrovnik without the premium prices or tourist-zone chaos. The staff seemed to actually live in the area and could give real recommendations — not just the standard “visit the walls” advice. For couples especially, there’s something appealing about having a quiet retreat after long days of sightseeing. You can walk to dinner, catch the bus to Old Town when you want culture, and still feel like you’re experiencing a bit of local Croatian life rather than just checking boxes on a tourist itinerary.

Reviews of Oaza
I would not hesitate to return here for our next visit. – Jehrome from Ireland – 22 June 2025 (10/10)
Good location, close to old city and 5-10 min walk to the beach strip where most restaurants and shops are located. Very clean property, the owner was very friendly and accomodating. There is also a fantastic view overlooking the town from the balcony. Lovely terrace in the garden where you can relax with a drink and soak up the sun. Just be cautious walking on the grass in the garden as there are some cute turtles roaming around.

The host was very welcoming. We were able to drop off all our luggage early in the morning. The hosts carried our luggage to our apartment up two flights of stairs for us.
