Old Town Olive luxury room for 2 Overview
You know what struck me first about the Old Town Olive? It’s tucked away on Nalješkovićeva ulica in a way that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special – but honestly, you’re still right in the thick of things. I mean, you can practically roll out of bed and be on the Stradun in about two minutes, which is pretty perfect when you want to grab morning coffee before the cruise ship crowds descend.
The room itself is what I’d call thoughtfully luxurious – not the kind of place that hits you over the head with marble and gold, but everything just feels right. The stone walls have this authentic old-world texture that reminds you you’re literally sleeping within medieval city walls, and the modern touches (great shower pressure, thank god) blend in without feeling jarring. What really impressed me was how quiet it stays at night, considering you’re in the heart of Old Town. I was expecting to hear every drunk tourist stumbling back from the bars, but the thick walls do their job. Actually, the only sounds I noticed were the occasional church bells, which – let’s be honest – is pretty magical when you’re drifting off to sleep.
The location really can’t be overstated here. Sure, everyone talks about staying in Old Town, but this specific spot hits that sweet balance where you’re not fighting through Pile Gate crowds every time you want to come home, yet you’re close enough to everything that matters. There’s this little bakery about thirty seconds away that locals actually use (not just tourists), and if you head toward the port early enough, you can watch the fishermen bringing in their catch before the restaurants start their day. The 9.8 rating makes total sense when you experience it – it’s the kind of place where small details matter, like how they’ve managed to keep the historical character without sacrificing comfort, or how the staff seems to genuinely care about Dubrovnik rather than just going through hospitality motions. I stayed here in late September when the summer chaos was winding down, and honestly, it felt like having a perfect home base for exploring the city at its most authentic.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay and we can honestly say that we thought the room was exceptional and would recommend a stay here to anyone. The location was great and so easy to find, thanks to a video being sent to us by the owner on the day of our arrival 😀. The room was spacious, clean and very modern. The owner was very helpful and even provided us with restaurant recommendations 😀
Agnieszka from Ireland – 27 April 2025 (10/10)
The room was sparkling clean, very comfortable and well equipped. The location is excellent, a few steps away from all the tourist attractions in the Old Town. The owner provided us with clear instructions on how to find the apartment which was very helpful and also recommended places to eat; we tried two of them during our stay and they were both excellent. The cleaning lady was lovely and very friendly.
I can't fault anything, we had an excellent stay.Matt from United Kingdom – 25 April 2025 (10/10)
This is an exceptional location within the walls of Dubrovnik old town. The apartment feels like brand new. It has a comfy bed and powerful shower. You’re not a 2 minute walk from the Buza gate making it easy to taxi to the property. Access is easy and quick with the careful instructions provided the day before arrival. It’s then less than a few minutes walk to the main restaurants and bars of the old town.

Sophie from United Kingdom – 8 April 2025 (10/10)
Very comfortable bed, excellent shower, room to hang things and excellent location. It was also very helpful that there was a pre-booked taxi service from the airport, this took away a lot of the stress on arrival.

Near the Buza Gate, this property had good access with less stairs than many other properties in the Old Town. It is newly renovated with beautiful furniture and fittings and a really comfortable bed, important after a big day of walking.
The owner met us at the airport and then drove us to our next stay- a very attractive additional service in a hilly place like Old Town. There are many amazing bistros and bars up on the hill and I think they were better priced and with better food than down near the port.
A wonderful stay and nothing but good things to say about this property and Bozena, our host.
