Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Rhea Silvia? It’s tucked away on Zagrebačka Ulica in this residential pocket of Dubrovnik where you actually hear roosters in the morning instead of cruise ship announcements. I mean, you’re still close enough to walk to the Old Town – maybe 15 minutes on foot – but it feels like you’ve discovered this quiet corner that most tourists never stumble across.
The whole place has this understated elegance that’s honestly refreshing after seeing so many hotels trying too hard to be flashy. The rooms are spacious (and I mean actually spacious, not “European spacious”), with these lovely stone accents that remind you you’re in Croatia without beating you over the head with it. The staff here really knows their stuff – they’ll tell you which restaurants the locals go to on Stradun, or suggest hitting Pile Beach early morning before the day-trippers arrive. What I loved most was how they handled the little things… like when I mentioned wanting to catch the sunset from the city walls, they not only gave me the best entrance to use but also warned me about the crowds around 6 PM and suggested going closer to 7:30 instead.
The breakfast situation is solid – nothing fancy, but they’ve got proper Croatian coffee and these amazing local pastries that you won’t find at the big chain hotels. There’s this small terrace where you can eat outside, and honestly, starting your day there while planning your Old Town adventure feels pretty perfect. The whole vibe is relaxed but professional, if that makes sense. It’s the kind of place where you can come back after a long day walking those stone streets (your feet will thank you for booking somewhere with actual comfort), and it just feels like a proper retreat. The 9.3 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Dubrovnik, but it absolutely nails what it is trying to be.

The breakfast was tasty, and the apartment was very comfortable and vibrant.

Location was great and the breakfast was exceptional.

We enjoyed our time in Rhea Silvia very much. The location is very good, not far from the city centre. The breakfast was served in a restaurant in the centre and tasted very good, especially eggs benedict. The place was cosy and comfortable. It was quick and easy to communicate with the owner. I would come here again without hesitation.
What could be improved: It is located in the main street with lots of cars driving around, so it was a bit noisy with open windows.Nadia from Australia – 16 August 2024 (10/10)
Great to have a hot tub! The host left some drinks and cookies in the fridge which was a nice personal touch and they even had robes.
What could be improved: Some coffee would be nice to have for the morning.Harriet from United Kingdom – 24 July 2024 (9/10)
We loved our stay in Dubrovnik. The accommodation was excellent – everything provided from drinks and biscuits, to shampoo and washing powder. Bed was super comfy and the air conditioning kept us cool, despite the heat outside. The accommodation is a ten minute walk uphill from the old town, and there is a supermarket and little Italian restaurant/ bar next door. The pizzas there are much cheaper than in the touristy old town, and just as delicious. The breakfast (served in a restaurant in one of the main squares in the old town) was exceptionally good. There was an excellent choice of substantial meals, and wonderful fresh orange juice and coffee. We tended to arrive after 10, having done something in the relative 'cool' of early morning such as walking the walls, so didn't need another meal until the evening! Communication with our host was very easy and replies were instant.
What could be improved: Nothing to complain about! Be aware that it is a steep walk up to the accommodation in the evening, especially after a large meal or a day spent swimming in the Adriatic, but I'm sure there must be taxis available.Leigh from United Kingdom – 3 July 2024 (9/10)
This is an excellent apartment with a 9 min walk to old town and is right next to shop and bar and there’s a bakery just down the road. We loved the hot tub and found the bed to be very comfortable and I loved the rain shower. The aircon worked as expect and the key entry super simple as digital. We also really appreciated the welcome pack and smellies
What could be improved: Nothing really all was really good, you could ask for a few more free coffee but that’s just Cheeky. So nothing this apartment is excellent so thank you for having us and we come back for sure maybe one dayNoora from Finland – 1 June 2024 (10/10)
Super friendly and helpful hosts, clean and functional place. Location perfect!
Sueross from Australia – 25 May 2024 (8/10)
Breakfast was lovely in the old town, but a good walk away which makes it tough in bad weather and we missed out on a day when we took a full day trip, but wouldn’t have done if breakfast was on site.
Facilities at Rhea Silvia were excellent.
Garden lovely, under floor heating was a pleasant surprise!
What could be improved: Earlier access to entry code as we needed wifi to read WhatsApp messages or booking.com messages
For the price, it would have been nice to have some little extras like a small amount of milk left in the fridge and maybe tea and coffee. Arriving on a Sunday meant all nearby Marts were closed.F from Netherlands – 19 May 2024 (9/10)
In the beginning, we were doubtful about booking outside the Old Town, but we know now that we made the right choice. Inside de walls are extremely hectic all the time and super loud. It felt good to go out and be in a more calm area.
The bedroom is big, clean and spacious.Szilard from Hungary – 2 May 2024 (10/10)
We were perfectly satisfied with everything. The apartment is clean and very tidy. We had a lot of fun. We will definitely be back. Thanks again for everything.
