It’s tucked away in this quiet residential area that honestly feels more like a local neighborhood than a tourist zone — which, trust me, is exactly what you want in Dubrovnik. The building itself has that understated Croatian charm, nothing flashy, but you can tell someone actually cares about this place.
Here’s what I love about the location — you’re close enough to everything that matters, but far enough from the cruise ship crowds that you can actually breathe. The Old Town is totally walkable from here, maybe 10-15 minutes depending on how often you stop for photos (and you will stop). What really struck me is how couples seem to gravitate toward this spot — there’s something romantic about having your own little corner of the city. You know what’s great? You can grab groceries at the local market and feel like you’re living here, not just visiting.
The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d hope for — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up. Nothing over-the-top, but everything you need is there. The best part is how quiet it gets at night, which honestly surprised me given how central you are. I mean, after a long day exploring those ancient walls and climbing what feels like a thousand stone steps, you really appreciate being able to just collapse and actually sleep well.
What guests don’t always realize until they get here is how perfectly positioned you are for the real Dubrovnik experience. Sure, you can hit all the Game of Thrones spots (and you probably will), but you’re also right where locals actually live and work. There’s this little bakery around the corner that opens early — the kind of place where the owner remembers your order after two days. The neighborhood has that authentic Croatian rhythm to it, especially in the evenings when families are out walking and the cafés start filling up with people who actually live here year-round.
Look, Dubrovnik can be overwhelming with all the history and crowds and Instagram spots everyone’s trying to hit. But staying at Rooms Edna gives you this sense of having your own peaceful retreat while still being in the heart of everything. The high ratings make total sense when you experience it — it’s not trying to be fancy or impress you with amenities you don’t need. Instead, it just does the basics really, really well. You get a great night’s sleep, wake up refreshed, and step out into one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

Rooms Edna is ideal for those who do not want, or cannot afford, to stay in the main town. Breakfast was not included but we received coffee made specially for us and brought our market purchases into the garden to eat. I speak the language so there were no problems!

Great for a 1-2 night stay, close to the bus station and port. Modern room and friendly host. Staff were polite and accommodating of our later checkin and early checkout. The location is very close to Dubrovnik port and bus station, which made it easy to use as a base for travel. There were a lot of shops and restaurants in the area as well. The bathroom facilities were modern.
What could be improved: The walls were quite thin, and we could hear other rooms very clearly. The room is quite small, so perfect for a 1-2 night stay, but might be too small for any longer duration.
Convenient, clean property at Port Gruz Very convenient position if you are coming off a cruise or ferry and flying out the next day.
The room was basic but very clean and good value for the money.
The lady managing the rooms is lovely and helpful. She even coped with our accidental red wine spillage!
What could be improved: Can be a little difficult getting into the property up the laneway with heavy luggage.
Great location and functional! We stayed our last night in Dubrovnik after returning from the islands.The location is great. Next to the ferry and many bus routes. It was the perfect place for what we needed. The host was very sweet. She even messaged me when the room was ready to see if we wanted to check-in early. She also allowed us to leave our luggage in the house until the afternoon. This is a basic bit functional and comfortable place.
What could be improved: The luggage storage is a room in the house that's open and visible to other guests. Not secured. Since we didn't have anything valuable, we were ok, but it made me a little uncomfortable. I'm just sharing so people can plan accordingly.

Rooms Edna offers easy access to Old Town and a cozy location in an entertaining and warm Dubrovnik neighborhood. A cozy and very clean room with plenty of storage, a well-supplied bathroom and a great location. The host is warm and welcoming. Rooms Edna is a flat 10-minute walk from the bus station and even closer to the port. There is a bus stop just outside with regular busses to Pile Gate (Old Town). Also steps away is Gruz Market, a grocery store, bakeries, restaurants and cafes.
Great little place to stay Excellent position for bus station and port. Had everything we needed. Nice lady owner that told us everything we needed to know and more. Eg where to buy bus tickets etc
