You know what struck me first about Sea & Green? The name actually makes perfect sense once you’re there – it’s this lovely three-star spot in Lapad where you genuinely get both the sea views and all that Mediterranean greenery Dubrovnik does so well. I mean, Savska ulica isn’t the most famous street in town, but honestly that works in your favor here because you’re away from the Old Town crowds while still being, what, maybe a 15-minute bus ride from all the action?

The thing about this place is it punches way above its weight for a three-star hotel. I’ve stayed in fancier places that felt more impersonal, but there’s something refreshingly authentic about Sea & Green – like the staff actually remembers your name after the second day, and they’ll give you proper local recommendations instead of just pointing you toward the tourist traps. The rooms aren’t huge (this is Europe, after all), but they’re clean and comfortable, and if you get one facing the right direction, you’ll have that Adriatic view that makes you want to just sit on the balcony with your morning coffee. The Lapad peninsula itself is kind of underrated – it’s got this residential feel with actual Croatian families living their lives, not just souvenir shops and overpriced restaurants.

What really won me over was the attention to detail without all the pretense. The breakfast isn’t some massive buffet situation, but it’s fresh and local, and you can actually taste the difference in the produce. Parking can be a bit tricky in this area (honestly, it’s tricky everywhere in Dubrovnik), but they sort it out for you, which is worth its weight in gold if you’re driving. The walk down to Lapad Beach is maybe ten minutes through some lovely tree-lined streets, and there’s this great little bakery on the way that locals queue up at every morning. I noticed the hotel gets busy during peak summer months – July and August especially – but even then it never felt chaotic or rushed. The 9-rating makes total sense when you consider you’re getting genuine hospitality, a solid location that’s both peaceful and accessible, and that rare feeling of staying somewhere that locals might actually recommend to their visiting relatives. It’s not flashy, but it’s the kind of place you’d book again without hesitation.
