You’re a two-minute walk from Stradun, but more importantly, you’re close to those hidden staircases that lead up to the wall walks before the morning crowds hit. The little konoba around the corner – I won’t spoil it by naming it, but locals will point you there – serves the best black risotto I’ve had outside of Venice. And here’s something practical: while most Old Town accommodations make you schlep your luggage up endless stairs, the approach here is relatively manageable. The 9.2 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed a night or two. It’s not flashy or over-the-top luxurious, but everything works exactly as it should, and the attention to detail is obvious in ways that matter – good water pressure, reliable wifi, blackout curtains that actually block light. You get the feeling the owners understand what travelers actually need versus what looks good in photos.
