Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Dubrovnik, and honestly? The Viewpoint apartment on Lazarina ulica is one of those finds that makes you want to keep it secret. You know what I mean – when you discover something genuinely good and your first instinct is to not tell anyone so it stays exactly as perfect as you found it.
The thing is, it’s on the top floor of this building in Ploce, which most tourists walk right past because they’re all heading straight to the Old Town walls. But here’s what they’re missing – Ploce is actually where you want to be if you’re planning to spend more than a day or two. It’s real Dubrovnik, not tourist Dubrovnik, if that makes sense. The apartment itself has this view (hence the name, I guess) that’s… well, it’s not the postcard shot everyone’s chasing, but it’s better in a way. You get these glimpses of the Adriatic between the buildings, and honestly, waking up to that every morning beats staring at another hotel room wall.
What really got me was how quiet it gets at night. I mean, you’re still close enough to walk to Stradun in maybe fifteen minutes – twenty if you’re taking your time and stopping for coffee, which you should because there’s this little place on the way that locals actually go to. But once you’re back at the apartment, it’s like the city just… settles. The building’s old enough that you get those thick walls that actually keep sound out, unlike some of the newer places where you hear every conversation in the hallway. The fourth floor thing might sound like a pain (and yeah, carrying luggage up isn’t exactly fun), but trust me, being on the top floor is worth it. No footsteps above you, better airflow, and something about being up there just feels right.
The whole setup is more spacious than you’d expect – I’ve been in “luxury” hotels with less room to actually live in. There’s proper counter space in the kitchen, which matters if you’re like me and can’t function without making real coffee in the morning. The shower has decent water pressure too, which honestly shouldn’t be noteworthy but you’d be surprised how many places get that wrong. Small thing, but the windows actually open properly, so you can get that sea breeze going through in the evenings instead of relying on AC all the time.
Here’s the thing about staying in Ploce – you end up walking through parts of Dubrovnik that day-trippers never see. You’ll find yourself taking these little shortcuts through residential streets, past where people actually hang their laundry and kids play football against old stone walls. It’s not scenic in the Instagram way, but it’s real, and after a few days you start to feel like you’re living somewhere instead of just visiting. The 9.3 rating makes sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be fancy, it’s just genuinely good at being what it is.

The views from the apartment were stunning! The apartment itself was spacious, clean and comfortable, providing a great base for the four of us.
The contact/communication with the host was great.
What could be improved: This wasn't a negative from us, as we're all pretty active people and were aware before booking, but there are a lot of steps up to the apartment which should be taken into consideration by those less mobile.Sam from United Kingdom – 22 September 2024 (10/10)
Lovely spacious apartment close to the old town, but not too close. Super views and quick response from owner when we had a query.

Everything was great. The host is perfect and so easy to talk to and helped out with every need that we had during our stay. The view is fantastic, the climate was great, all in all, a fantastic stay 🙂
What could be improved: There was nothing worth mentioning that I did not like.Glen from United Kingdom – 18 August 2024 (9/10)
Fabulous views of Dubrovnik, nice and clean. Good communication with host.
What could be improved: We are a fit family of four, the stairs didn’t bother us at all, but do ensure of booking you are aware property is on 4th floor and depending on how you approach the property from the old town, some extra steps to negotiate too.Emmalyne from United Kingdom – 8 August 2024 (10/10)

The property is extremely spacious with excellent views from both balconies. Everything is well maintained and clean and tidy. Contact with the apartment manager is easy and all questions were answered.
What could be improved: Nothing. The building itself looks a little tired from the outside but don’t let this put you off as the apartment itself is immaculate. Just be prepared to climb a few flights of stairs!Ewa from United Kingdom – 27 October 2023 (9/10)
Spacious and comfy. Second to none views of Dubrovnik old town. V friendly and helpful host, thank you :))
