Fabulous location enabling us to get to bars and restaurants easily. Comfy beds, quiet streets, well-functioning air-con but able to fully open windows too. Showers great even though being used simultaneously in the house (you can feel a reduction of pressure but no sudden temperature change). There is no point to mentioning the amount of steps as that’s what you have signed up to by staying in Old Town. Being very near Jesuit Stairs meant easy to find. The host, Marino, was great with consulting on our plans to see things, and he also offered very cost-effective safe transport.
What could be improved: The only improvement we could think of would be a capsule coffee machine in each room so we could buy our own capsules rather than use kettle and instant. We never choose a room without at least a kettle. Fridge was great for storing our own milk.
Dubrovnik Sweet House

Dubrovnik Sweet House

Look, I’ve walked past this little gem on Crijevićeva Street probably a dozen times before I actually stayed there, and honestly? I was kicking myself for waiting so long. The Dubrovnik Sweet House sits right in the thick of Old Town – I’m talking you can practically touch the ancient stone walls from some windows – but somehow it manages to feel like this quiet refuge once you’re inside.
The thing about staying right on Crijevićeva is that you’re maybe a two-minute stumble from Stradun (that’s the main drag for anyone who hasn’t been), but you’re tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the cruise ship crowds trampling past your door at 7 AM. Well, most of the time anyway. During peak summer you’ll still hear some chatter drifting up, but honestly, that’s just Dubrovnik in July – comes with the territory. What I really loved was stepping out in the early morning when the city’s still waking up, grabbing coffee from that little place around the corner, and having those marble streets mostly to myself.
The rooms themselves have this really nice balance going on – they’ve kept some of the old-world charm (exposed stone here and there, traditional shutters) but actually invested in proper modern bathrooms and decent WiFi. I mean, let’s be real, you’re not coming to Dubrovnik to sit in your room, but when you do want to crash after walking the city walls in 30-degree heat, you want the AC to work properly. And it does. The 9.1 rating makes sense when you consider they’ve nailed the basics while keeping that authentic Croatian feel that so many places lose when they renovate.
Storage is surprisingly good too – sounds boring, but trust me, after living out of a suitcase for a week, having actual closet space matters. The beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with medieval torture devices, which… well, you’d be surprised how often that happens in old buildings. What really won me over though was the little touches – they actually stock decent coffee (not just those sad instant packets), and the staff genuinely knows the area. When I asked about avoiding the crowds at Lovrijenac Fort, the guy at reception didn’t just hand me a generic pamphlet – he told me exactly when the tour groups usually show up and suggested I go around 4 PM instead.
The location really is something special if you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re living in the city rather than just visiting it. You’re close enough to everything that matters – the walls, the harbor, those ridiculously photogenic limestone streets – but far enough from the main tourist arteries that you can actually think straight. Plus, and this is crucial if you’re visiting in summer, you can duck back to your room during the brutal midday heat without it being a whole expedition. Just don’t expect to drive up to the door – this is Old Town, so you’ll be walking from wherever you manage to park, but that’s half the charm really.

What Our Guests Say
Location was great. Clean and in keeping with the old town
What could be improved: Nothing
From the front door greeting by our host to the well laid out and beautifully refurbished rooms, it was wonderful. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would wholeheartedly recommend for a comfortable and peaceful stay in this beautiful town. The.peeling of various bells across the town was a bonus.
What could be improved: Nothing
Awesome place to stay and smooth from start to finish. Marino was great letting us check in early and making sure we were looked after. Great location in town
It was a very cute place
What could be improved: So many stairs: to get to the apt then also the bathroom was on a second floor, this unfortunately is a Dubrovnik thing.
Everything is perfect!
Service : 5 stars! Gino is extremely nice, he helped to pick us up and carry our big luggage from the gate to the property. Without him, to be honest we dont have any idea how to survive the stairs. Though apparently it is not a very long / steep stairs.
Property : it is a 2 stairs property, with bedroom downstairs and bathroom upstairs. Quite unique but very clean and well decorated! They certainly put attention to details on navigating the limited space.
Location : very conveniently located nearby the jesuit stairs (the walk of shame stairs of cersei), and just 1 min walk from Buza Bar, and 5 min to main street.
Additional sweetness : The view from the upstairs window is so lovely.
This property certainly deserves a 10/10.
What could be improved: Nothing!
Location, comfortable bed
What could be improved: A bit dark
Great shower. Loved the open windows and music teacher having clarinet lessons! Coffee nook was so cozy. Just loved it!
What could be improved: Steps were challenging but no reflection on this adorable place!
Great location, clean and beautifully finished.
What could be improved: There are a lot of stairs to get to the property. I was aware of this so it wasn’t an issue, but it’s worth noting. The location was worth it, however.
The accommodation was in such a good location. It was also very comfortable and the host was extremely accommodating and friendly. Would highly recommend staying here.
